Why so long??

HI again. I have yet another problem with my new 800xt. Everytime I restart my computer, once I'm looking at my desktop, my computer freezes. It seems like catalyst is starting. I left it like that overnight last night and by the morning, it was okay, but it takes hours to load! what is the deal? can someon tell me? aaaah!!! I'm going nuts

Is it an AiW X800XT?

It could be an issue with a firewall and the Catalyst Control Center

Yes it is. It's not the best buy I've ever done. I tell you that.

I think you're right about the firewall, because I turned the firewall off and restarted the computer and it worked fine. Thanks!

No problem

You might have to make sure that the CCC can get through the firewall. Incidentally, which firewall are you using?

I'm using Mcafee for my antivirus and firewall.

Its because the .NET stuff goes through a loop back adapter. If you look at the traffic log its actually trying to get to 127.0.0.1, which is your own computer.

I actually couldn't load up CCC without killing my firewall..but I just granted it access and now it's fine..Loopbacks? gotta love ATI...

More Microsoft's design push than just ATI IMO. I'm just gonna get used to it cause thats the direction its going so why fight it
