Firewire port on 9600XT?

i just bought a camcorder and want to put video on my computer.
does the 9600xt already have a port for it or do i need to buy one? I have it hooked up right now with the usb port but the video quality isnt as good as I want.
when i go to device manager i see a 1394 bus controller but im not sure where the actual port is on my computer

I don't recall any 9600XTs having a firewire port on them. If you have a Sound Blaster Audigy/Audigy2 sound card you should notice a firewire port on it. Also, some motherboard manufacturers will add a firewire port for their "Deluxe" version of particular boards (Intel, and Asus are well known for this). As such there may be a connector on the motherobard itself which you could take advantage of. One way would be to buy a front panel piece that has a passthrough such as THIS one, or a backpanel bracket such as THIS one. Also, some computer cases can included 1 front firewire connector too (such as the Antec P180 case I use).

What motherboard do you have exactly?

Even if you don't or you're not sure a cheap Firewire PCI card is always an option if you're not adverse to cash spending

Best bet for the connector is back side. In my mobo I have one 6-pin connector in the back and one optional connector pins in mobo.
