6.2 Drivers with MMC 9.08
Hi all, I've read some places that you can have the 6.2 display drivers but use MMC 9.08. When I do it everything seems fine, but when I start the TV part up the sound is looped every second it seems and constantly gets louder. The controls are also smaller than usual. When I try and run the initialization wizard to change anything it freezes. Is there something I might be doing wrong?
Apparently I can't change channels either. If it helps I'm on an AIW 9600xt Last edited by Knightwing2; Apr 6, 2006 at 06:02 AM. |

Umm I reccomend against DAO. It isn't actually needed UNLESS you want to record directly to WMV

Ok I tried reinstalling and it pretty much just made things worse. It now says the capture drivers aren't enumerated, even though I have them installed.
I don't use the latest MMC because I don't like having TV on Demand at all. Plus I always seem to have problems with the newer ones. |

Also that was a fast reply there h3x, I restarted my comp and there it was |

If it doesn't, well you could weigh your options and consider something other than MMC for TV

What alternatives are there? |

Why don't your try a different version of drivers and MMC, although that's the exact config I use, well I ues the DHzeropoint 6.2 drivers and MMC 9.08, and i have the same card as you. is it possible you have something else gumming up the works? what all do you have starting up in the system tray?

Just my antivirus and firewall. I'm actually trying to install 8.8. Just because thats the only one I've actually ever had work for me. That and I'm kinda lazy, it's easier to use the cd. But I think I'm gonna try 9.08 very soon.

I recently did a reinstall, when I install drivers I install:
1. Latest Chipset-or if been having issue Known good chipset drivers. 2. Base video Drivers&WDM's -Know good set, or latest modded set I have been testing and know works. 3. Whatever version of MMC I want. See, I always treat the ATI drivers and the MMC stuff seperate, meaning you can remove or install one side of the coin without worrying about the other. I hope that might help...good luck |

Thanks for the advice, been busy with school today so I haven't had a chance to try it. But I do have a question. Do the Display drivers and WDM drivers have to be the same?

AFAIK, No they don't have to be from the same release..That is what you mean correct?
3 parts to the VIVO type cards- base diplay drivers, WDM drivers, MMC+company |

Great, glad you got it working. I have the EXACT same card as you a 9600XT and it's been great. I try lots of different drivers and different MMC's and they all seem to work. Maybe these models are on of the "better" or should I say more stable cards...don't know. I am just glad I have a card that functions and does what I bought it for..

Ah shoot, I guess I spoke too soon. I have a delay now with the composite inputs. Any ideas on how to fix that? TV on Demand isn't on so I know it's not that.

What do you mean by a delay? YOu mean between audio and video? Your Sync is off? YEah you can fix that by changin the Rage Theatre driver...the NSP fix.. Hav eyou bee following that thread?, if not it's the fix that changes the AIW audio from digital back to the Line_in...that connector on the back of the PC that goes from the AIW to the Soundcard. alot of guys who were having sync issues used this and fixed it..

Oh sorry, its the video game delay thing. I remember last time I had it the only way to fix it was to reinstall it and hope for the best.

Yeah you have a sync issue, if you change that driver...Your game has a delay BUT if you change that driver it should fix it for you. DO you know what I am talking about? You change the NSP driver to the SP version. It forces MMC to use the analog connection again which is alot quicker than the digital one..so that should give you the speed needed to play your game station without the Lag..

Which driver is it?
Edit: I think I got it, I should change the NSP drivers to the standard SP drivers? For both the Rage Audio and Video? Last edited by Knightwing2; Apr 8, 2006 at 11:53 PM. |

Ok so here's something tricky...I change the Rage Theater Video drivers to the SP ones, and when I try to use the TV I get no sound, and that's the only driver that says NSP next to it. I try to change the Rage Theater Audio to the same set of drivers as the video and I get no video, but it still starts. Any ideas on fixing that?

Are you sure you have the analog passthrough cable connected right and the line in selected?
