tv wonder elite problems

i installed the latest omega drivers, tv wonder elite (theatre 550) drivers, remote wonder, ati powercinema software. yet it says i have no signal.

it flashes 480i for a second but nothing loads, i know my cable should be workign because my cable internet was functioning and my cable tv provider did hook it up so tv was enabled in my room. i did do a rush install of everything what is the proper way

edit: uninstalled, reinstalled everything including omega drivers. i don't use catalyst because it crashes my comp with whatever card i have. still no luck, i tried using the drivers off the disc

I think you need to install the stock WDM drivers if I'm not mistaken

Try moving the card up or down a PCI slot

hmmm... true. its being detected though by windows. that would mean its alive in the slot right?

i called ATI they said its something with my codecs, this is what I have and supposedly this is incorrect

its located on my X850 Pro? WTF? I installed all updated drivers and everything this is frustrating I just want to watch TV

I Don't see how they'd figure that you have no unknown devices.... why it thinks your X850 is the sole VIVO device there I don't know

Wheres the actual ATI TV Wonder device?

Try going View > VIew Devices by Connection then finding the TV Wonder and all the codecs that might shed some light on the situation

That's what I am thinking, Even if it was having trouble with loading drivers and such, you should still have a listing for the device..You could try another PCI slot. SO ATI told you what your issue is but not what the fix is? So when you install drivers it loads them to your X850? Try DHZeropoint? maybe they will install to the TV card. Have you ever had this working? Did ATI say the card may just be defective?

yea man i did it now my windows is locking up. i didnt uninstall the crap first i was too lazy. i'm just going to reformat first. there are no discussions online about the card really either. its annoying

Just out of pure curiosity have you tried looking at any PCI related options in your BIOS?

GREAT NEWS it works! turns out YES my PCI slot is defective. i ended up formatting my whole system which kinda sucks but im always ready to do it. i figured it out after putting my network card in there the system locked up. i couldnt install windows after also. so i removed it

now for some reason i cant install the remote wonder 3.03 drivers, the ones on the cd are fine. it fails to register some DLL's. ran drivercleaner also no luck. it was working before, actually i installed the remote wonder with basically almost no software on my computer. its really odd.

SOmetimes those driver have issues if the remote reciver is connected prior to insstalling the drivers..also did you install all your chipset drivers? USB 1.0 and 2.0 drivers?..this might be the issue..hope that helps.

Well could be different but I know when install my AIW it has a TV tuner I have to scan for channels. or are you talking about the remote? they take a little messing around to get to work right. I am thinking of building a HTPC so the remote will probably end up on that I don't have any need for it because I am sitting right here all the time...it's cool for parties though because I can work winamp with it..
