TV Player Fails to Intialize

The TV player on my 9600 AIW had been working until a few days ago. No new software or applications were installed, to my knowledge, that coincided with the failure.

The message I get is as follows: "TV Player Failed to Initialize"

I have followed all "troubleshooting" suggestions from the ATI sight, including un-installing and re-installing the application and media centre, updating to the most recent software versions from the ATI website (including 6-4_xp-2k_dd_31959, 6-4_ccc_en_31959, 6-4_xp-2k_wdm_31959, 6-4_xp-2k_wdm_31959, 9-13_mmc_uci, atiCDwiz, 9-13_mmc_enu). I followed detailed uninstall and re-install instructions from their website, including use of regedit to remove ATI registrations prior to re-install. Other aspects of the card, except the TV tuner, seem to be working well.

Looking in the Device Manager, I note that the ATI T200 unified stream driver is reporting an error: It states "This Device Cannot Start. (Code 10). Once again, I followed the recommended procedures to attempt to fix this, including uninstall/re-install, and driver update. This did not help.

I am using DirectX 9.0c, and the latest updates of Widows XP Home Edition, service pack 2.

My system is an Asus AS7V, Socket A, running an 1.2 Athlon chip, and 512 mgs of RAM.

I hope you can help.

Try reading the AiW stickies and then look for replacing the AVS drivers with the ATI WDM_SP drivers
