ati tv failure help pleas

DESPERATLY SEEKING HELP !! , my"ATI ALL IN WONDER RADEON 8500DV" ) TV suddenly stopped working with an error message ----> "The tv player failed to initialise the video, check the windows device manager to ensure that the correct video driver has been installed and is working properly before attempting to restart tv !!!...... so, i checked the device manager and everything seemed fine, so just in case, i uninstalled all ati products and reinstalled using the original ati disc which never worked so i downloaded the most recent driver that a.t.i supports but still received the same error message! and using the "system restore" facility also failed to fix it ive updated service pack 2 and windows updates as well as direct x updates to no avail, im at my wits end as this is the only tv i have im also wondering if no one has any quick fix it solutions, would putting the recovery disc i received from the manufactureres when i purchased pc work? if i know this would work, i would do it now so help would be greatly appreciated please

welcome to DH Mark....sad to say that if you removed everything ati related and reinstalled with the original cd but atill got that error, it does not really look good. Do you have a freind with a system you can test the card in? It sounds like the tv tuner may have met the end....try another pc or format and try again...

Reinstalling Windows is the next step but I'm siding with Chaos here, it might be the card giving up the ghost

Reformatting your PC is free and a good step to take regardless
