Remote Wonder 3.04 released

Hey guys, Ati released new Remote Wonder Software Ver. 3.04 So if you have been having issue with your RW or if you install the new MMC you need to install the new RW software AFAIK...hope that helps.

Sad Gonna try the new set and hope...

Recently I have installed a new AIW X800XT AGP, when I got it, I initially installed with what was on the disc, and updated from the website to 6.03 and MMC 9.13, I couldnt get consistent performance at all if Gemstar was running, until I had installed Gemstar I was not having too much trouble using the remote or the TV functions, but not PVR capabilities.
Now however after reinstalling Windows XP Pro SP2, and completely re-installing the latest (6.03 and 9.13 at the time) I cannot even get the TV to run, and if I attempt to use the configure it tells me that the MMC is not installed again. Which it is, lol.
So I am going to pull hte MMC 9.13 and attempt to use the new MMC9.14 and the new remote Wonder II 3.04 (I think) and will report how it goes.
I as well have bought this in the hopes of using my gaming machine as a PVR/MMPC, but this has proved near impossible with their buggy software. This is the most frustrating money I have ever spent.
The only upside is my R420 card kicks a$$ for gaming in an AGP system. Some consolation yes, but am I satisifed with this... NO!!

Make sure you update the Cat drivers aswell. SO you need:

New catd drivers 6.5
New MMC 9.14
New RW 3.04

Dont forget the RW sometimes if you have a older version and try to start the MMC it'll give you a error that's directly related to the olde RW sodtware. Hope that helps...

rolleyes didnt quite work

So I used the ATI uninstaller.
I downloaded Omega Drivers latest release instead of using ATIs 6.5
Then I grabbed MMC 9.14 and RWII v3.04
installed all and now when I go to fire up the configuration tool, I get:

Unable to load language resources.
Please Re-install the software.
Program will exit.

OK

So I grabbed the language pack that lists Canadian French from ATI, just in case, lol (I will leave no stone unturned) and once I got the configuration to actually load, but only once.
I tried Launchpad as well and it says:

AtiSServ failed to provide required interfaces!

OK

Also, when trying to bring up the remote utility, I get no response from the application other than a brief hourglass on the mouse pointer, then nothing.

So now I will try again but I am going to take out Gemstar as well, which I previously had left in, and we'll see how that goes.

The RW app acts funny with MMC changes in my experience so I've removed the hardware just for the time being to see how that goes

Hey do you think the RW will work without MMC or vice versa?

Lets go try it and see if one makes the other better

My findings:

-MMC was about 25% more crash prone while not using the RW
-The RW worked without the MMC just fine
-Installing the RW before MMC yielded best results

So that didnt work either...

I have since taken all the ATI branded drivers out, reinstalled Omega Drivers (latest edition) and the WDM required for AIW/VIVO abilities. Attempted to run again and get nothing. So now I will need to most likely use a Reg cleaner to ensure that all items are actually deleted. And try again, any suggestions as to which apps I should use to clean the registry of ATI driver leftovers?
Any suggestions are appreciated, really good ones are really appreciated

CCleaner's issue finder works really well for getting rid of registry cruft

I use Driver Cleaner, BEcause you can target it to a certain driver group Like ATI, or ATI MCC you can get it here in the download section..try that out..

still same results

Sorry, long delay in following up...

Just a quick update, after I uninstalled everything I could find in Add/Remove Programs, I ran the Driver Cleaner and cleaned everything I could find related to video cards and ATI drivers. Reinstalled the lastest Omega drivers and the WDM, then the RWII drivers, then the 9.14 MMC.
Now when I use the Control panel provided by Omega Drivers, the MMC functions show up, but they will not engage.
I will post the errors when I am next in front of my machine again, this is a very frustrating thing, I could have, for less money bought a straight up video card and a TV tuner card and been up and running without issue, but no, I had to have this AIW POS...(AIW x800xt AGP) which by the way, rocks as a card, if only the drivers would allow it to do what it is capable of...

Some TV Tuners get this too, its mainly MMC's fault
