Composit lag on 9800 AIW
So, my TV died last week and I haven't been able to play any console games since then. I started out with my free time watching TV, trying to ignore the terrible sound things going on with the TV player. I found out that if I pulled the audio-line-in from the sound card, that problem was fixed. Then a few days ago, I tried some gaming, but couldn't play because of the video lag. After some looking, I'm guessing that it's TV On Demand that's causing the lag. Now, I've done the registry fix thing, setting the value to 1, but that did not fix the video lag.
Does anyone know how I can get rid of this lag and have the live stream from my gaming console through the purple box back? I've got the most up to date drivers, and I'm guessing that they're the problem since it'll work perfectly with the software off the CD. I'd like to keep the new drivers because I get a fps increase in games, but I'm willing to follow whatever steps I have to take to go back. |

I assume you're using the latest drivers? As well as the latest MMC?
You may want to follow kbuzzard's posts on reverting to the WDM_SP drivers, which you can find in the "Come on ATI..." thread |

I looked through all that, but I didn't really understand much of it. I reinstalled the TV player and went through the process again. Now, whenever I switch to composit video, a window pops up saying TVoD is not reccommended for real time viewing of things like gaming consoles. Below that there's a checkbox saying use TVoD. Even if I leave it unchecked, it lags. |

The sound or video lags, sorry I'm getting confused here...
Are you familiar with using Driver Cleaner and the install/reinstall process? If you wanna attempt to get your AiW working you will be soon hehe |

YOu may possibly want to use a older version of the Drivers, WDM's and the MMC to get a Composite in that's not so "laggy" Perhaps 6.2, 9.08 MMC. Hope that helps.
O BTW You may consider a 3rd party viewer such a Dscaler. THere is a few others that are smal and easy to use but I can't think of any right now..maybe others can help. Last edited by ROBSCIX; Jun 28, 2006 at 01:29 AM. |

I'm now running older drivers I got from the DH downloads page. My ATI Multimedia Center is still the laggy build though that was released a few weeks ago. Does anyone know where I can download an older one that doesn't use Video on Demand?

Can 't you use the drivers off your disk? - if you get a older version of the drivers, you can change the sound driver around and it'll give you near real-time video...

You may be right, for me using the AIW though it does.. You click >open Device, selct the capture driver. WHen the app opens there is a combobox top left hand that says tuner, click that and change it to S-video or composite. I would think that it would work with a VIVO card..
