ATI Multimedia Center Install Problem

I won an ATI TV Wonder USB 2.0 on the tech radio show Into Tommorrow. When I try do install the Multimedia center, I get an error:

Unhandled exception
Error Number: Ox80040705
Derscription: String accessed out of bounds.
Setup will now terminate.

Here is my laptop config:

Windows XP Pro Ver. 2002 Service Pack 2
Intel Pentium 4 1.80GHz, 512 MB of Ram
Video: ATI Mobility Radeon

Someone please help!

I've never dealt with this particular card so don't have anything at all to offer. Just be patient, though, someone will get a response to you soon.

The information in this article applies to the following configuration(s):

TV Wonder USB 2.0

ATI Multimedia Center

Windows XP

Some users have reported when trying to install the ATI software supplied with the TV Wonder USB 2.0, the following error message may appear on screen:

UNHANDLED EXCEPTION
ERROR NUMBER 0x80040705
DESCRIPTION: STRING ACCESSED OUT OF BOUNDS. SETUP WILL NOW TERMINATE

ATI Customer Care is aware of the issue and is investigating. To help determine the cause, please ensure:
All other USB devices are removed from the computer before installing the TV Wonder.

Windows XP Service Pack 2 is installed prior to installing the software.

You are installing the software with Administrator privileges.

All relevant Windows Updates for USB support is installed.

Your system meets the minimum USB 2.0 support.

Your system chipset drivers are up to date.

The latest drivers and software for TV Wonder USB 2.0 have been tested.

The latest video drivers have been installed.

Should the issue persist, please provide an ATI Problem Report, with a detailed problem description and detailed system configuration used.

Not really a solution, although they do say they are working on it, and some things to try...Could you give the make and model of your laptop?
