??? Rage Theater & T200 AV Stream Question...

HI,
I've Been searching this thread and couldn't find a real answer.

Sorry for a noob question but I'm new in the AIW/VIVO world.

I just bought an X800XT PE with VIVO (by Connect3D) with the Rage Theater chip on it for VIVO.
The original Drivers on the cd (4.12) works and the WDM is the above mentiond Rage Theater, but I want to use the new ATI drivers and I got the T200 Av Stream WDM.
Now, I can not capture my VidCam as I used to with a dedicated Capture Card. Skype, (the phone software) gives an error report ("Cannot render video stream into a picture") and using Ulead Visual Studio 7 / Windows Encoder - I cannot get them to save my Source setting (PAL/S-video setting I use) it resets it's self, sometimes hangs.
does it mean there is no support for that chip Rage theater) any longer?
are the drivers suppose to be compatible with the Rage theater chip? what are the benefits of that and is there an alternative??
thanks!!
Ron

The drivers ARE supposed to be compatible, but the reality of it is the T200 drivers are crap and that's why your VIVO won't work

Although I've been a bit frustrated with this, too, I do think we need to qualify the statement. A LOT of people are having problems with this new T200 drivers.

However, I finally got around to testing the latest MMC 9.14 on my X800 XL system and I DO get video...and I can record. Surprised even me. LOL!

And, I'm using the NGO Optimized Drivers 1.6.6.

However, I DO have a couple of annoying problems:

1. Although I DO get video there's this annoying "No Signal" box right smack dab in the middle of the live viewing screen. That message box does NOT show up in the recorded videos. So, that's good.

2. On both my X800 XL system and on my AIW 9600 system, the video has this very annoying slow rolling unevenly colored bars that scroll upward. I posted a captured video in another thread about this. I'm still not sure that it's driver-related rather than something to do with interference in the area where my systems are located. I have a LOT of electronic hardware and electrical devices in here....including a window A/C unit and a ceiling fan. So, it could be just a lot of interference. Although, I once got rid of this on my AIW 9600 by reverting to CAT 5.13s and MMC 8.8.

Still, I agree that these new drivers are FAR FROM PERFECT.

The way I'm capturing video to my X800 XL is through my VHS recorder/player using the Composite (RCA) cable connections. So, I'm still wondering why, if I'm getting video, there's this message bar saying there isn't any. ???
