AIW, MMC 15 Problem
Hi,
Im having problems with watching TV in MMC. Seems after I updated my ATI drivers to 6.8 and MMC 15, I started to get this problem. The problem is when I start MMC, I can hear each channel, but there isnt any video. and when I put it in thruview I then can see it. And if I return to the regular view it works for that channel but if I change it, it would go back to the blank screen and I still can hear the channels. I tried uninstalling the drivers & MMC then using driver cleaner and reinstalling everything and I still cant get it to work. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Specs: Pentium 4 3.2 GHz Abit IC7-Max3 AIW 9800 Pro Sony 17 inch LCD |

Downgrade the MMC... I expect that's a new issue with MMC 9.15

Software Alternative for MMC 9.15?? HELP!
Hi there, (got an AIW X800GT)
have problems as well, although I CAN watch TV more or less undisturbed and catpure it as well. BUT I am still using composite-connector for analogue sources a lot, and THAT has two glitches with the latest MMC: 1. There is something called "automatic volume control" (or similar, am using german version), that in my case is always on, to be accessed ONLY through context-menu and greyed out always so I cannot change it...! 2. The "stereo"-mode is turned on by default and yet - starting MMC shows it to be "mono" and I can only change that by switching over to channels, change 'mono' to 'stereo', than switch back again to composite. ![]() So: Is there any reasonable software out there, which would work with the latest Catalyst AND the strange "ATI T200 Unified AVStream"-driver??? If ATIs software only would be better! There must have been such a LOT of 'prayers' since earliest times, I wonder if up there anything else is heard...

It is a somewhat late return, but anyway: thanks for the suggestion, but Dscaler does not work with AIW-cards per definition. It's on their homepage somewhere...
I tried it (just in case) and it won't...EDIT: I use the Catalyst 6.2 with Control Panel (instead of CCC, faster that way) and the MMC 9.08. It's a reasonably well working combination. But there are still drawbacks: 1. The WDM-NSP drivers are the digital verrsion of the WDM-drivers coming with the Catalyst. The SP-drivers are (or contain) the analogue version, but I cannot use those on this card, audio won't work that way. 2. Because of the digital audio used, the classics of the capture-softwares like VirtualDub, VirtualVCR or iuVCR DO NOT work with the card. There is no audio... If anyone has got a solution for this I would be really happy... Last edited by nbarzgar; Sep 26, 2006 at 06:56 PM. |

Well, I should say it works 'half way': I get video, I can capture it, but there is NO audio, neither in preview nor in the captured file.
Can you help me? Perhabs you would post your settings? Especially concerning set-up of card vs. systems audio device. Which drivers are you using? Quote:
Thank you for all the help, here and elsewhere in the forum! EDIT: I have got the AIW X800GT, and am in Germany, DScaler refuses to find any channels... It switches back to card's default in "format", so although I need to setup for PAL-B, it would use NTSC, it seems and does not find channels. I get video on composite though, s.a. but under "Audio Inputs" there is nothing shown, not even greyed-out options... Is it a format problem possibly...? EDIT. ![]() I mean the point is moot now because ATI has discontinued their AiW product line and will likely discontinue support thereafter. The Catalyst MMC Center was a new and improved MMC to go with Catalyst Control Center but we never got that. Nor a working MMC. |
