built-by ati x1900xtx video-in help

hey all

Ive been searching the web for hours now trying to find information on how to get the vivo video-in to work on my x1900xtx card.

Ive tried VLC, Dscaler,TView,VirtualDub, and Intervideo winDVR, but nothing,i cant get ati mmc to install.. non of them either show option for an input, or they say no device.

So the real question is do i have VIVO and how do i get this thing workin hehe, i have the latest 6.9cat combined pack installed and the avivo stuff, and i downloaded the wdm pack seperate and installed it after just incase.

So yeh any help would be much appriciated..

o yeh and there isnt anything about a ATI T200 or rage theater chip in my hardware manager.. but the box for my card says does say video-in...

thanx alot!!!

hey there, im basically trying to say, plug my gamecube into the tv-in on my graphics card and the audio into my sound card and play.. or watch a movie off a vcr, but im not sure if my card has really got video-in, from other posts around the web it seems the programs listed above were the ones to use, but none detect a video-in, though other people with my card say it has one and the box does too.

Specs: Athlon 64 X2 4800+ (Socket 939), 2 Gb Corsair XMS Ram, DFI CFX3200-DR, Dual ATI X1900's (Crossfire Edition and XTX), SoundBlaster X-Fi Elite Pro, 2 Western Digital 150Gb AFD Raptors Raid 0 System Drive, 2 Maxtor 300Gb HDD, 1 Seagate 750Gb HDD, 750watt PSU, WINXP SP2.

thanx alot!

I don't think your card has VIVO. If it did and assuming you installed the WDM drivers, you'd be able to use it if you had it.

In order to get a video input, you must first disable crossfire. Then plug in your source into the slave card. Once that's done, open up CCC to confirm that the card sees the gamecube(must be powered on). Once that's all said and done, if CCC does not see the stream, you may need to install the WDM driver as well.

Anyway, you can use VLC or DScaler, but i find that hte delay between the video being input, and it being rendered on-screen, makes video games unplayable. Might depend on the game tho...but it's fine for playing TV, at least for me.

hey thanx for all the help so far!

where would i look to find the source in CCC? i cant actually choose the XTX adapter in there it only ever shows me the crossfire card on the drop down menu of adapters, still allows crossfire to work though and Video-Out works too..

im begining to think its not gona work but the box specifically says VIVO and video-in and ive heard of other people getting it working, the main problem i have if i do have it is no drivers being installed. for it :S

thanx again chums

You have to enable the adapter in CCC first(secondary card). Then make it the primary display. Then you might get the signal...or you could just swap the slots the cards are in. Actually i think that's what i had to do...and why i gave up on it. lol.

I've looked on ATI's site and saw no Crossfire or otherwise X1900 with VIVO... is your card built by ATI or by someone else?

Edit: Never mind I Read the title again

Doesn't look like the card has VIVO without a T200 stream driver

...And the ionly way to have that installed is to have the x1900xtx in the master slot when the driver is installed.

thank you very much for all your replys! i will try the card in the master slot(ill just try unplugging the crossfire card and runing off the xtx in the secondary first) and see what i can find and post back, if you look at the xtx under the ati shop its listed under "key features" says video in/video out. http://shop.ati.com/product.asp?sku=2826999 is the link, thank you once again for all your help, tis much appriciated
