Remote Wonder II help with MMC 9.15
Last night I decided to try the newer MMC 9.15 along with Catalyst 6.9. I uninstalled everything, deleted the Registry entries, and deleted the ATI folders. I then installed everything starting with the Catalyst apps, then the MMC apps, then Remote Wonder II last. (this was per ATI's web walkthrough)
Since I have had the AIW X800XT I have never once got the Remote Wonder II to work. But I do currently have everything else working and it is running really good and stable. Can someone recommend a fix for this final problem. Should I install Remote Wonder at the beginning or in the middle? When I check Catalyst it says this. Driver Packaging Version 8.291-060822a-035774C-ATI CATALYST® Version 06.9 Provider ATI Technologies Inc. 2D Driver Version 6.14.10.6635 2D Driver File Path System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Video/{FD5A6FD7-2698-4122-B7A5-DCDCF0776B9A}/0000 Direct3D Version 6.14.10.0431 OpenGL Version 6.14.10.6067 CATALYST® Control Center Version 1.2.2425.37188 AIW/VIVO WDM Driver Version 6.14.10.6290 AIW/VIVO WDM NSP Driver Version 6.14.10.6290 REMOTE WONDER II Driver Version 2.0.0.0 AV Stream (T200) Driver Version 6.14.10.1074 As you can see Remote Wonder shows version 2.0, but I installed 3.04. Is there a way to fix this, or is 2.0 the proper version to display. Then lastly: The ATI website says Remote Wonder II is compatable with Windows XP, but it doesn't mention anything about XP Media Center Edition. When I looked up Remote Wonder Plus it says that Plus is compatible with XP MCE. So is RWII not even compatible with XP MCE and I should just forget about trying to get it running. Thanks |

No, You can use a application called Girder. It will let you control ANYThING on your PC with your remote. I don't know about MCE, I know it woks with XP becasue I have mine working. it was working with normal MMC but now I have it functioning with Girder. Check it out. BTW you installed the newest version of the RWII drivers?

The latest RW drivers don't work PERIOD.
I suggest trying to find & use the 3.00 driver, it worked relatively good |

Did you try using the driver off the disk? I have never had any issues with my RWII..I have been experimenting using that with girder. If you can't get your remote working send it back to ATI perhaps it's defective unit...
