9800 xt to camcorder

I would like to record some video game footage on my computer using a camcorder, a sony handycam (dcr s480) using the s-video out feature on my ATI 9800xt. I have the cable to connect the camcorder to the s-video on my card. I followed the instructions to use camera to record from an s-video source, but when I set it all up the camcorder detects no image. I have catalyst 6.7's.

Any idea's?

Out of curiosity why not hook the console directly up to your computer then record that way?

Sounds like you may not have selected the right source... never read the instructions myself but wouldn't be surprised if they left that out.

I just ended up using fraps. I was just trying to find a more cost effective method rather than paying for the full version of fraps.

Oh, my mistake. I thought you meant a console.

In that case you'd get better quality out of FRAPS anyway.... as well as far less hassles and instant digitization (being that it captures al the video in a natively digital way)
