Using MMC 9.16 then going into 'standby'.
I've been experimenting with the free ATI software and an AIW 9700.
The new Catalyst suite works alot better than the previous edition such that I can actually use my 36" CRT TV without any fiddling around. I've found that the MMC 9.16 works well enough on default mode as long as you have the Gemstar program (which I downloaded off the internet from persons unknown) and you use only the top layer of programming, the so-called "EZlook". MMC is a mess of old programming layered one on top of the other but it now works well enough to be called useful. MMC boots up from standby and records on schedule but does not shut down. I would like to have the computer go into standby after recording but have had no luck getting it to do so. If anyone has been able to do this, give me a clue. TIA.

Greetings and welcome to DriverHeaven!
I used MMC in all its iterations from way back, I think, around v. 2. Ever since it went to the v. 9.x series, I've had so many problems I just don't bother with it anymore. At least you have it working for you. If I were in your shoes, I'd be very, very happy.

When you say Catalyst suite.... do you refer to the Catalyst Media Center? I know it comes with new tuner cards but I'm still baffled to this day as to whether or not it works with AiW cards... I mean... is ATI just not offering it to us on their download page but it will install and work?
