AIW 9800 open GL drivers

Hello All,
First post.... should be obvious to most.

I'm a flight sim user. I downloaded the recent X-Plane 9 release and I'm crashing on the app loadup. Errors showing for open GL frame buffers (framebuffer.ccp line 74...). Since the app won't load, I can't get into the settings for the app to look for adjustments. I went to the app site and I've done all they've suggested...all my hardware is within specs for the app and I'm left with soft/firmware possibilities.... This app should run.
I'm guessing I need for new (GL?) drivers for my ATI card. I went to the AMD site to dl the files and see nothing newer than what I had and I downloaded what I found here at this site. I found and installed new drivers for my sound blaster as well...
Does anyone have any ideas on where to look for more recent of complete driver resources or have seen a similar problem with this combination to iron out this issue?

Ted

Found the solution- The driver set that I downloaded from ATI was apparently beyond, despite any on-site suggestion to the contrary, what the device could use. I backtracked in the archives at ATI/AMD and found an older driver version (7.1) that worked. I found a thread at another site that described a similar issue that was solved by using an older driver in addition to not installing the Creative Control Center (CCC) and, in combination, it did the trick.

So, open GL people, be advised when using older ATI graphics boards.

I think this belongs in general graphics forum, this isn't anything to do with the tuner or WDM portion of your AiW card.

You should have been able to download the latest 8.5 drivers for that card, I know they work on my AiW 9800 (so I can't see why it didn't point you to them on AMD/ATI's website) for download, cause it did for me

Well how special for you.

It's been a while and I find myself right back here with the same problem with X Plane.

Something I did not say in my first post was that the tuner feature on my card was not functional at all while I was using the latest and best driver that AMD had to offer. This is why this post found itself where it did Hex.

Since that time AMD has reduced (or should I say removed) access to the drivers that did solve the problem for me. So, oh joy....
