System Specs

Thumbs Up! Ati aiw x800xt

Hi...

I would like to setup VHS conversion to DVD with the card. I have an MSI adapter for the card, I could post a photo later. It has In and Out S-Video and In and Out Composite Video sockets, 4 sockets.
I still can't get the capture to activate...message is "there is no device attached"
I think the card needs the Software cd that sells with the retail card because I did read the card used software decoders....did I get that term right?...so I have thought the software cd will be the answer.
I bought the card on an auction site for ... I am almost ashamed to say....NZ 400 dollars...I had to save pretty hard and sell a few computer items to afford the card.
All I can get is a black and white playback in Microsoft Movie Player and it is so much better than the playback from an 713X chipset capture card I have that I feel impelled to use the X800XT .

The VHS tapes I have played are not Protected so protection is not a reason for the black and white only playbck. The tapes play fine in colour straight from the VCR to the TV.

..hi

Re: Ati aiw x800xt

I think it might be a PAL/NTSC setting. If your region uses PAL, the card is likely set to NTSC. If your region uses NTSC, its likely set for PAL.

There is also the distinct possibility that the card was designed for the country it was auctioned from and not for yours.
