My kinda forum

OK, I'll ask something (I'm pretty sure the answer is No )
Is there any way to enable MulTiView with just a single AIW card, using the tuner and say . . . Composite as the 2nd input?

You would be right in your assumption. The MulTView won't work that way. Sorry.

Will you pay my cable provider the $50 they want to install a cable jack in the room where my computer is, so I can actually use my AIW to watch and capture TV?

Shrink, you really helped me on a previous post!

I now have my AIW functional with an additional couple of questions. I have a Sony Wega 27" with S-video inputs. I got color by adding a S-video booster to the 26' Monster s-video cable. But the AIW card is sending the desk top resolution to the TV @ 60hz. I cannot find any specs on the TV which indicates what resolution it can take without damage. Do I have to lower the desk top resolution in order to change the resolution to the TV if it is too high? The second question is in regards to the DVD player that shows on the TV with no picture. Is this a side affect of the resolution?? I am new to the AIW features as you can guess, but am really liking it (ie burned my first DVD from a home VHS tape).

Hi Dogin - the resolution of the TV should be 60hz as far as I know. The maximum resolution that AIW can provide to the TV is 1024X768 in clone mode and 640X480 in Theater Mode.

To have a DVD output to the TV, you need to enable Theater Mode and in the MMC Configuration Utility (start - programs - ATI Multiimedia Center - Configuration) make sure that you have selected there to output DVD to the TV (Can't remember the exact setting but it is in there). Take a read through the manual and ATI's support pages - also experiment around - the documentation for the TV Out features is lacking IMHO. Good luck!

Shrink, following your suggestions. so far going into clone mode is the only way I have found to enable the theater settings etc. I have not really found the clear written documentation on how to work this card function yet, but this seems to work. Thanks for the advice!

The TV section of displays lists the TV as unknown, but the max resolution of 1024x768 @ 60HZ. I have not found if this is the vid cards ability to analyze the TV capabilities or just a general acceptable limit. Hooked another TV monitor up and it says the same thing? If anyone runs accross a more detailed explanation of this TV function, I would appreciate the information. I am continuimg my search as this bugs the h@@@ out of me.

At the moment I am running a 9700Pro and a TV Wonder VE on a 3.06GHz P4.

What is the max resolution of MPEG-2 I would get by upgrading to a 9800Pro AIW?

Bios Flashed killed my card

I flashed my bios with the ati flash utility from Omega with the 8004n bios and killed my card. I have a AIW 9700 pro and appearently the AIW bios is different from the 9700 pro. Re-flashed with the saved bios but wouldn't take. The orig bios P/N is( or was) BK-ativer 008.004.008.000. Would somebody copy their orig bios and post it where I can download it to try another re-flash please--I'm kind of desperate here.
