Default Post Terrible TV-in picture quality with AIW32DDR

Hi,

I've just upgraded (downgraded is what it feels like) from an ATI All-in-Wonder Pro (Rage Pro) to an All-in-Wonder Radeon AGP/4X (PAL) (no, I can't afford 7500 or better). I've installed the latest Catalyst drivers and MMC (7.7) and while the card seems to be functioning normally, the TV tuner is the source of numerous problems:

(1) The picture quality is *terrible* - it's pixellated and has a lot of noise. It's hard to describe - it looks like a low-res picture and very dirty. Much worse than the excellent quality the AIW had (so it's not a TV cable fault, which is 75 ohms).

(2) The audio is un-listenable - the volume fluctuates wildly - with sharp rises and falls and generally terrible, almost garbled sound. Using TV-on-demand makes it sound like some sblive EAX underwater effect was in use - to the point that I can't watch TV on my PC anymore. (((

So far, I've tried several versions of MMC (7.0, 7.5, 7.6) with no change. The Rage3dtweaker's enable overscan and other options seem to have produced a minimal improvement in quality. ANY advice will be welcome. This has me worried about whether there is a physical problem with the card.

My specs are :

Motherboard : ASUS CUV4X - no sound/graphics onboard
Processor : Intel Pentium III 733 Mhz
RAM : 512 MB SDRAM (in 2 slots)
Video : ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon 32MB AGP/4X in AGP 4X Slot
Sound : Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! Value in PCI slot 3 (using old VXD driver)
NIC : D-Link 1000-Mbit Network Card in PCO slot 4
[ Also, USB and Serial expansion connecters - NO slots are sharing IRQs! ]
Drives : Primary Controller - Master : Samsung 40 GB. Slave : Samsung 20 GB
Secondary Controller - Master : AOpen 1648 16x DVD-ROM drive. Slave : Samsung 12832 12x CD-Writer
Other devices: Intel PC Camera Pro (USB), Logitech Optical Mouse (USB), UMAX Astra Parallel Port flatbed scanner.

Operating Systems : MS Windows 98 SE with DirectX 8.1, Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 2 and DirectX 8.1, RedHat Linux 7.2 with XFree86 4.2.x and DRI-acceleration.
