I own a TV-Wonder VE +Remote Wonder.
1. Why was the TV function removed in MMC8.5? (It was present in 8.1) 2. Will it come back in newer versions of MMC? |

HDTV Support
I've emailed Valve on their HDTV support considering their involvement with ATi. I would ask this question if I had the opportunity.
1.) One of the main reasons for owning an All-In-Wonder is for the video inputs and editing as well as the ability to use it on the big screen. With HDTV monitors increasing in sales and the component (red, green, blue) cord that comes with the All-In-Wonder cards how much a push are you trying to get developers to include resolutions such as 1280x720 for 720p and 1920x1080 for 1080i in games? With SFF computers on the rise and gaining popularity. Pushing these "ability to select these resolutions" with software could be a boost for a lot of people. I know I certainly would be interested in sitting on my couch and playing Half Life 2 on my HDTV monitor if such games would support these resolution selections in their games. So the bottom line is how much of a push are these resolution selections being adopted in software for use on your All-In-Wonder cards. Regards, D. Solomon Jr. 3DChipset.com |

There is no TV-applet with MMC8.5. If you had MMC 8.1 and upgraded to 8.5, you would be left with using the TV 8.1 applet (This corrupts/cripples recording features). I dont think this problem is isolated. It cant be fixed with a simple "inf" change. I However, through hours of experimentation and troubleshooting have made a workaround/fix which installs the 8.5 TV applet. Just need to find some webspace to put it up. Fix file is around 10-15mb.

I have heard from 2 different sources (one was Maximum PC) that ATI would release an IR-Blaster so the the AIW could control digital cable and satellite boxes when setting up timed recordings...any truth to those rumors? If yes, then when? and how does it work... If not, then why not? It seems like a relatively easy thing to make...other video capture cards have them. And it would GREATLY enhance the AIW for a lot of us.

VIDEOSOAP seems to only be available for when making video captures.
Why not allow us to enable it for normal TV viewing?

Ok, it must be because he has a TV Wonder, because I have just installed the 8.5 suite and bypassed all the others and installed it without any problems. Although the new 9.0b DirectX has effected my TV tuner now, I think I may have to reinstall WinXP again to fix this. For some reason I have to go back and tell TV Player my speakers are still connected each time I reboot, and I have to go back and reenable all the channels to be able to change the channels with the up/down buttons each time I reboot. Other than that, I have no problems with it. I live in USA and am using the NTSC format though. (I know this goes into the other thread, I am posting it there as well.) |

Any chance of allowing user-defined keys to control things? (I much prefered using +/- to change channels)
I know I'm asking a lot of little questions, I leave them in your better judgement, Shrink, whether or not you want you use any of them ![]() I just had to get these off my chest
