Cature video with XP using an All-In-Wonder-Radeon (Don't hurt me Im new :-)

I can't capture video with most capture applications (Pinnacle Studio 8, windows movie maker, neoDVD, Sonic MyDVD) with my AllInWonder. Every time these applications try to access the setup menu's for the Card they crash. I think it has somthing to do with vfw because I installed a freeware software package that warned me it would stop support for vfw. I have tried the vfwwdm wrapper and it didn't fix the problem, but I think that only applies to W2k not Windows XP. It use to work before I installed the freeware software. I don't want to have to re-install XP again from scratch. I am confused about vfw support for WinXP. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help

What is your setup? Name of offending software? VFW in XP is rather obscure. Most all of the products you describe do work with AIW, and XP. WDM drivers work beautifully with Movie Maker, as well. Give us some info on your card, drivers, MMC edition, and Vid, audio codecs. Don;t get overwhelmed by it it's most likely fixable, certainly without reinstall. Do you turn off system restore?
