Need some possible buying ideas

Part one:
Ok this is what happened thus far.
I have used the Dongle plug and hooked to my camcorder, wich only has rca outputs, yes it's alittle older, but stilla good camcorder, 8mm Camera specs and pic , it's not the best but it's not the worst either. I plugged in rca jacks to my 9700pro aiw card, and it was black and white, so i thought odd, ok I;ll check the settings, checked all settings, nothing is set for black and white, I live in US so ntsc is set right, nothing is off in MMC, everything is set correctly. Took it over to a friends house, who JUST bougth a new camcorder yesterday, and it to showed the same b&w. Well his had svideo on it so I decided to plug in the svideo from the camera to the dongle and svideo doesn't evne work. Rca is set as I have ta use svideo, wich I could have sworn it was composite, and not svideo thru the tv.
Now I have a couple questions.
1: Am I right in assumeing that rca would be composite and not svideo, and that svideo would be svideo?
2: is there any way to tell really if this is the dongle, or the part the dongle is plugged into on the actual card??

I don't know of anyone that has an aiw card so I can't do it that way .

Part two:

I am honestly thinking of getting a 9800pro aiw card, since that's what I waned to begin with anyways, and this card can be rma'd and sent to ati, then when it gets back I can sue it for my second machine, wich has an SIS 64 meg card in it , so it'll definatly be a good upgrade.
My questions is, should I go for the 9800pro aiw, or will there be a 9800xt aiw card comeing out shortly? this may be a question for CM.

Thanks in advance for any info and/or advice and ideas.
