Default Post Windows Media Center Edition (Freestyle) and AIW

This forum looks like about the best chance that I have of getting an answer to this question. Lots of ATI geeks with access to lots of pre-release software.

Has anyone had an opportunity to see if the new ATI AIW's work with Windows XP Media Center Edition (aka Freestyle) (aka XP SP1 beta)?

I've been waiting to purchase my new system until XP MCE is out, but now it looks like they're only going to "officially" release it with HP hardware. No thanks.

So the plan goes like this:
1. Buy a new machine with the new AIW Radeon 9700 when available
2. Acquire Windows XP MCE
3. Plug it all in and run it off of my TV

I've heard that the included software with the AIWs are okay, but not really the best for full-functionality on the TV. However the new XP MCE interface looks like it'll fit the bill.

Thoughts? Anybody tried this setup with the betas?
