Default Post ATI just admitted the WDM drivers are "new"...

If you look at ATI's site, you'll see a "new" listing for the WDM drivers to go with Catalyst 2.2... If you are one of the folks who already fought through that problem while installing the Catalyst driver, you don't need to do it again.

From ATI's "Release Notes":

UPDATE NOTE (Aug 08/02): User feedback and forum messages between Aug 01/02 and Aug 08/02 indicated a problem (UNKNOWN devices) with the installation of the capture components when used in conjunction with the ATI display driver that was released on Aug. 01. This problem may occur in Windows Millennium, Windows 2000, or Windows XP.

We have confirmed that in most cases the problem occurs because an older version of this package with the same file name is cached on the user system.

This software package has been renamed to prevent further installation problems.
