When will ATi release the next All-in-wonder videocard
I would love to buy a new all in wonder card (have an 8500DV) but I would like to have a card that is pretty much 4 times what I have now. I would love to have a 256MB all-in-wonder built by ati card. I am not much into games but a X800 would be lovely in an all-in-wonder card.

I'd guess 3-6 months after the regular X800

When it's ready....
As I understood it will have HDTV support there for the ATI’s HDTV setup must be finalized first....Because of course the add-on boards and the AIW cards will likely share chips….

if you mean an HDTV tuner, Neon, I don't think it's likely, due to the larger size of it, compared to analog.

If you compare the card length of ATI vs nVidia, and allow for the larger phillips hdtv tuner module, it would seem possible to have an HDTV AIW.
I am a long time AIW user, but have often thought that maybe I should go with the separate video card and tuner card, mainly to allow me to keep up with the higher end graphics. Currently, I still use the AIW9700Pro that I picked up as soon as was locally available. The aiw9800 is something that I've by passed as not being enough of an upgrade. In the near term, I hope for an update to MMC software... CM had indicated we could see something last week; the week that followed the cat4.6's... so far, all quiet, with even the reviews of the hdtv card highlighting mmc 9.0 |
