Omega drivers disable Macrovision?

Does anyone know if the Omega drivers do anything to this stupid Macrovision detection. All I want to do is move some hard to find VHS tapes on over to DVD and ditch my VCR from my entertainment system completely (Actually, it is to make room for more stereo equipment, but that is another sotry) yet this Macrovision is such a headache and in the way. THe only true way I see to do it is to use the old Plutonium drivers, but I don't feel like loading these ancient things since it probably breaks half the games or fixes ATI has made in the last couple years. I guess you can say I'm between a rock and a hardplace on this one.

Thanks for any info you can provide,

-X

PS. I forgot to mention - ATI 9800 AIW Pro is the culprit card.

PPS. Yes, I have tried all the patches, and none of them work on a 9800 it would seem.

I don't know myself, but you can always just load the Plutoniums, copy your tapes over, then just switch back. Do you have a lot of tapes to record? more than a day's work?

There is a tool that turns off macrovision detection in MMC. I think you can find it in the Tools section as part of MMC reg tool. Download the tool and look for the macrovision disabling progam that is separate from the reg tool. It worked beutifully for me.
