Audio Capture problems w/MMC 7.71

I have a Radeon All in Wonder Card 32MB, Windows 98 SE, and Crystal integrated CS4821 sound card. Lately, MMC 7.71 does not keep audio setting when using the TV application. I have re-installed the sound drivers which does work or temporarily fixes the problem and Line-In audio settings are kept in the MMC 7.71 application until the next time I reboot. Then after I reboot the computer the MMC 7.71 application defaults back to Compact Disc as the audio in settings instead on Line-IN which I had selected before. Is the problem w/MMC 7.71 or is some other application changing the default settings. Now evertime I start the application, I have to start the Initialization Wizard and change the setting back to Line-In for audio input. This makes scheduled VCR captures not an option as w/o re-setting audio each time, I have no sound on the capture. This never was an issue prior to recent drivers and versions of MMC. I would like to know what application is causing this (MMC or some other application). Has anyone heard of software or a way to keep other applications from changing audio settings, or registry tweak to keep the sound settings from being changed after setting it to Line-In w/MMC 7.71?? Anyone else had this Problem? I don't think I had this problem ever prior to about MMC 7.6.
