TV sound not working and it did before !

I have a Asus P4P800 deluxe mobo with the soundmax audio chip,a AIW 9800.Plenty of ram "gig" P4 2.8 cpu and for the life of me it doesn't work any more !!! I get sound through my Echo Mia, and sound for the soundmax chip on every other audio app I got Sonar 3,Sound Forge 7,Win Media Player 9,Musicmatch Juke box.....But not the freaking TV! Picture is great. I'm using Omega drivers and 8.5 MMC.Tried all new cats, omegas and all the other new mdac, dvd and MMC 9. Any help would be greatly appreciated !!! I've spent 6 hours trying to work this out and just don't get it AHHHHH

Thanks to anyone that trys to help me !

This has happened to me before.
When I re-installed the WDM driver it fixed it.

this is not a general sound issue, it's a MMC issue. so sound everywhere else is naturally going to work fine.
try this:
uninstall MMC completely, then uninstall your soundMAX drivers completely, reboot before and after.
then after rebooting, install your sound drivers again, reboot, and install MMC
see if that will work

Vampyromaniac,

First, I wanna thank you for helping me !

Ok I did what you said in the last message. I removed both
MMC 8.5 and Soundmax audio, rebooted before and after. Then I got a newer soundmax driver from Asus, also went and got MMC 8.5 from ATI. I installed the new soundmax drv, rebooted and then MMC 8.5 from ATI, rebooted and then open up the TV to do the setup, but my cable option wasn't there. Only S-Video and Composite.
I then pulled MMC 8.5 off my ATI cd and used the old soundmax driver and redid everything like before, uninstalling and rebooting and got the same problem. Where or what should I try next ?

Thanks for your help and patience ! I'm usally the guy people come to when they have problems,so this is really
freaking me out ! Had ATI AIW's since the first one and
have never had this problem.First and last time I'll use a onboard sound chip I think.

Thanks,
Mike C. "axis991"

seems like the WDM/capture drivers aren't working now. maybe best to try cleanng everything.
uninstall: MMC, ATI control panel, video drivers, sound driver.
then, install sound driver.
the ATI driver package (WDM + display + control panel)
and finally MMC
reboot between after each of the 3 steps.
If this doesn't work, I don't know what else to say

and, you're welcome of course

Vampyromaniac,

Thank you so much for your help, you kept me working

was I kept putting everything ATI in and then the soundmax driver.I put soundmax in first this time, after cleaning registry, folders and stuff CCleaner found. Now I have a fresh set of new Cats with all the newer Ati stuff and after a Drive image I'm gonna look for the new Omega's ! Thank you a million times Man ! If I can ever help ya I will, here's some free music I produced,6 Cd's worth.mainly guitar stuff.
Just click on the GenX Music collection
