Distorted capture image

When attempting to capturing home videos on VHS on my AIW 7500, the top portion of the previewed capture image becomes distorted, curving to the right. Viewed with the same VCR on a TV the problem is not there. If I go ahead and actually start recording the problem shows up in the recorded image. Other VHS tapes that I have tried do not have this problem, although some of these have annoying flickers and random distortion. My gear is:

AIW 7500
AMD 2100+ Athlon XP
512 MB DDR RAM
100GB 7200 RPM Hard drive
ECS K7S5A mb
SB Audigy
