Default Post ATI AIW Radeon 32 meg AGP Video Capture

Hello,

I happened on to this site and would like to say you are providing some great information. I do have a question.
I went from an ATI All-In-Wonder Pro AGP 8 meg video card with RCA In/Out and S-video In/Out. I used my Sony Hi8 camcorder into the S-Video input for my video conferencing. It worked fine except the card was not equipped for Mpeg II, Only Mpeg I. So I bought the ATI AIW Radeon 32 meg AGP right after I upgraded from Win 98SE to Win 2000 Pro.
When I installed the new card and tried to video conference, it says I do not have a video capture device. In fact, under Control Panel, Multimedia, I don't even show a video capture device on my computer!
I did hours of research to find that Win 2000, and ME do not support WindowsMedia and has been replaced with DirectShow. Whatever all that means!
So…my question is this. Does anyone know of a fix for this situation so I can use my camcorder as a capture device like before?
Thanks for your help!

ALL Drivers Since Windows 200 Came out are to Be WDM Based or they wont get the lil Windows xxx Logo On the Box Direct Show is WDM.

You Refering to Video For Windows not being supported no more.

Search the Rage3d.com forums for "WDM 2 VFW" or "WDM to Video For windows" I Currently ise all my VFW applications with ease after installing a wrapper

The drivers present in Win2000 and WinXP are basic 3D drivers only. You need to install the latest set of drivers from ATI. The WDM drivers come seperate and should be installed BEFORE installing the display driver. Do not reboot between WDM and the display driver install.
