An Unstickied Radeon 8500DV problem, but where?

I found my way to this site from the Knowledge base news server over at Creative.com for their Audigy MP3 and gamer sound cards. A couple of guys were having an ongoing back and forth over the incompatability problems of the Radeon 8500DV AIW 64Mg DDR video capture card and the Sound Blaster Audigy Sound Cards. I was psyched when I got to the end of the thread to find that there was a solution posted as of August. The link led to a thread on this site that didn't exist. I'm putting a system together and I have both the ATI radeon 8500DV AIW and the SB Audigy 2 platinum card w/drive. I have found some supposed fixes from some european sites. ...Catalyst 2.4... version drivers. I am trying to solve the problem before I get all the components. If there is anyone who knows where to get the right drivers for the job and any or all of the workarounds and which version of MMC I need (I have 7.6) pleas chime in. I could use the help. It's the first time I'm getting into higher end Multimedia functionality and I'd love to spend more time recording audio and video than reloading windows XP and clearing my registry of numerous driver downloads.
What I've gathered so far is:
Give Audigy 2 a free IRQ (unshared PCI slot)
Disable SB1394 on rdeaon to prevent Audigy conflict.
The folks over at compaq have written a driver set for the combination. I don't know where to find it though.

Basically, the problem has been fixed with the latest ATI Multimedia Center (7.7.0.1) and the latest Creative drivers (.253) I'm willing to bet that the drivers that come with your Audigy 2 will be at least that version, if not something higher.

As for the firewire, that was never a compatibility issue with the 8500DV and Audigy, as far as I know. It was, however, an issue with certain VIA chipsets. I don't remember if it was ever addressed or not..

The sticky you are looking for is over at Rage3d in the AIW forum (I authored both). There were actually 2 stickies: one related to AIW/Audigy compatibility and another related to the 1394 port on the 8500DV. Both of those issues are fixed: the first by a combination of MMC 7.7.0.1 and .253 and upwards version of Audigy drivers (it is fixed with the drivers that ship with the Audigy 2) and the latter issue fixed by ATI's SmartGART.

Solution

Shrink is right. I was worried for no reason. The 8500dv and the Audigy 2 platinum have absolutely no interoperability problems. Thank You for the response Shrink.
