Capture video from MiniDV

I am having trouble transferring the video from my new JVC GR-D33u MiniDV camcorder.. I am using firewire and it will just not show up... the wires are working b/c windows acknowledges the connection(with a sound)... I keep looking for video capture drivers and even got the ones from omega, and I was wondering if maybe the omega drivers do not include WDM ??

You might try to use the SVideo outlet on your JVC and plug it in the back of your AIW card. , it works wonders for me considering i also have the same conflict with xpPro sp2 and my 1394 .

Indeed pinnacle is good as so many others .I can have all of em in my pc but the issue remains that xp sp2 doesn't recognize the video cpture through the firewire .might be something wrong with the sony dv not transfering but somehow it does recognise the video capture sonydv as such .So i turned around and used the SVIDEO cable from the sony and plugged it on my AIW and works fine now ans even doubles as a web cam if needed so ., and window movie maker recognise my sony through the ATI rage video capture throught the SVIDEO choices of the 3 .

Somehow sp2 has something to do with all this mixup once again cause it does recognise my dv as a peripheral but as a remote wireless component such as a.....and conflicting with my wireless remote network.Ah well all this mombo jumbo is food for taught ...
