Channel order mixed up on AIW 9800

To start - I have tried sifting through all the posts in this forum for an answer, but to no avail. Hopefully someone will be able to figure this out.

The problem is this- when I watch TV through the MMC (ver 9.06, but I have tried several versions) the channels are in the wrong order. I am using the analog tuner, Cable standard Canada(although I have tried several other cable standards, hoping it would work. It didn't). When I do the autoscan, it skips a couple of channels I know are there, and finds signal on channels where it shouldn't. The channels are in the wrong spots. For example Channel 18 should be the Weather network, but tuning MMC to channel 18 shows me what should be on channel 11- a CBS station. The weather network is showing up on channel 10, which shouldn't have anything on it at all!

I have submitted this to ATI, who suggested I uninstall and reinstall. I had tried that long before they suggested it, but I thought I would do it again. Then they suggested I uninstall, and manually remove some registry entries, then try again. Which I did. No success. ATI's response said that no other customer had reported this problem. Certainly from reading this forum there are plenty of issues with the TV tuner, but mine seems fairly rare. Not as serious as some, I admit, since I can watch and capture TV, but the mixed up channel order is annoying, and renders GuidePlus virtually useless.

Some info on my system:
Windows XP home, SP2
Built by ATI AIW 9800, Cat version 5.3, MMC 9.06, Direct X 9.0c
Abit NF7-S motherboard, Athlon XP 2500+, 512 MB PC 3200

Oddly enough, the trial version of WinDVR 3.0 puts the channels in the right spots, which tells me the problem is in the software, not the card. But it won't work with Guideplus, and it is going to expire shortly.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
