You won't be able to use 8500 DV stuff, it won't fit. To output it I think you need to use round purple connector, or the square white one. Whichever is out put, then plug it into your svideo or composite cables.

These are the wires that should of came /w your card.
Just like Hex said you need to first hook the video. You have three options which the third is optional. 1. yellow analog output 2. svideo Optional 3. Video Component. In which you need the adaptor that goes on the 2nd analog connection to do this. Next is the audio. First option is connect directly from the video card to whatever you're hooking it up to. You would use this cable for doing that. ![]() The next method would be to plug the same output into your sound card. In which this would be the cable you would use to get the audio out of your sound card. ![]() If you sound card has a digital fiber optic or coax will give you a better quality output. However, your video card also has a digital output. Which you can pass thru to a receiver/tv or even your sound card. |

I just went and found the picture off newegg for what it has. Figured it would be similar to the 9600 Pro AIW, which is the only AIW I've worked with. It should have instructions for hooking most of this up though. Weird..

Looks like the assembly Janeethan shows in the first post connects to the square white connector on the back of the card and is inputs on one side and outputs on the other side - looks to be the 8500DV input/output block.
From your link - and the picture you posted (great post by the way...), the outputs look to be composite video - yellow, SVideo - 4 pins, right audio - red (RCA/Phono), left audio - white (RCA/Phono), and one other - orange (RCA/Phono) - but I don't know what that orange one is for (likely digital audio?). It would do the trick for you and looks like it would fit the square connector on your card, but I would contact ATI (looks like a Built By ATI card) to make sure. The two 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo connectors hanging on short wires are likely for audio line/microphone connections. Standard RCA/Phono and Svideo cables connected to the purple box can then be connected to/from nearly any piece of audio or video equipment. Included with the card should have been the necessary cables to provide output - not just inputs - a bit confusing... ![]() Edit: The dongle Necrosis showed with all the wires bundled together would provide outputs to connect to a TV or VCR as well - among other things. Looks like you didn't get everything in your package you needed - again, unusual...

I think what he did was post the wrong picture.
That 8500DV cable won't even work on the 9600. How he plugs in the monitor is still a mystery to me unless he just posted the wrong pictures. He wouldn't be able to see anything if he didnt have the monitor in
