Sad Slow, laggy Display

Im currently using an ATI AIW 9800 pro and i have my digital tv reciever connected to the composite input on the card. This worked fine before but when i updated my graphics card drivers (latest ATI catalyst drivers) and updated the ATI multi media centre application the composite display is now very slow and choppy. The sound lags and cuts off every couple of seconds and its basically un watchable. is there anything i can do to solve this problem?
any help appreciated

update : ive also noticed that when i record from the TV to my HD the video plays back normally and at the correct speed.

It seems some users have been having problems /w the latest MMC version. You might want to try going back a version.
