How to enable factory component YPrPB *input* on AIW cards?

In most (if not all) AIW user guides there is a page that shows an optional internal connector that would allow directly connecting component YPrPb video output from a HDTV box or prog. scan DVD player right into the AIW card for viewing. I have verified that ATI does in fact list YPrPb input as a feature of the Theater 200 chip but they do not appear to support it on any of their cards. Why not? More importantly, are there any driver hackers out there that could figure out how to enable this input on the chip? It doesn't seem too far out of reach since ATI puts the connector holes on most (or all) of the AIW boards and they are even routed to pins on the Theater chip. Soldering to the pins is easy enough but it's useless without software support. Especially nice would be a driver-level hack that would allow any of the apps that use the AIW inputs to use the component input... imagine the possibilities I'd love to give it a shot but with no technical docs from ATI it's very hard to do anything. Here's another thread with more info:

I really have to wonder why ATI has never enabled this input, especially now with all the HD rage

It doesn't support it on the input, just the output. Capturing HDTV would require a whole new Rage Theatre chip, so it isn't likely going to happen.

FWIW The HDTV Wonder can do it (IIRC), and is relatively cheap and adds PiP support to AiW's so that may be one route you might explore.
