Pc to Pc vith vivo
Hi. I just managed to plug my tv-out of my x800 pro vivo into the video-in (of the same card) and everything is working like a charm. I can capture my desktop using the so called "clone mode". But my dektop is in the so called "1280x1024" resolution, and all my games too. Thus catalyst make a virtual desktop on tv-out whose true resolution is "1024x768" and with panning. It seems thats because of the ntsc and pal intrensics. So i found a solution on the web: using a scan convertor. Ultimately i can buy one, but isnt theire any way to make tv-out at 1280x1024 resolution. Maybe some way to scale down the clone desktop, maybe using a shader. Well i have no ideas, and i hope a little help.
Thx

You should be able to set it independantly....i.e. the TV looks like a 2nd monitor to the card so you can set an independant refresh rate and resolution.

When i talked about scan convertors, thats because they can capture vga signal in 1280x1024 (not 4/3) and scale it down to 4/3 to be ntsc compliant. The tv-out of the ati cards seems pretty disappointing because they dont do that, they only cut a 4/3 area of the desktop (ie 1024/768) and create a virtual desktop that size in wich the mouse can pan the underlying 1280x1024 desktop. |

You'd be better off recording a game video at 1024x768 otherwise you'll get alot of data and have a big video and then need more compression to get a better file sie. 1024x768 is a standard video size anyway so you might take that into considerationc
