AIW and Win 64

Has anyonehere ran a AIW card with the Win XP Pro 64 operating system? I just built a second machine, ABIT UL8 with the Uli 1689 chipset and for now my rusty 9500 Pro. I would like to have put my AIW 9600XT in there instead, but I was concerned about compatability with XP 64.

I just did a forum search, but did not see anything in the thread titles.

Has anyone had sucess with Win 64 and a AIW?

Did you check ATI's site for W-64 Drivers for ATI AIW and VIVO cards?

Yes I did and under Win 64 they show Radeon drivers only, if you go to Win XP, they show Radeon and All-In-Wonder drivers. so I was wondering if any brave souls had tried and used a All-in-Wonder card with Win XP 64 and were sucessfull, or partially sucessful (Like everything but the remote worked, or something like that)

Why not just try it on a second partition or something? Assuming you have the hardware you want to try it on.

Don't see a reason why it won't work. At the very least the card will work with 3D so there is that

I wont use a second partition as I already have this HDD in one big Partition, but I will try to use my AIW with Win 64 if no one else has. If was a big headache that someone already knew about. Then no I wouldn't, but since no one knows...... I'll try it this weekend... wouldnt have been a problem if I had used the OEM CD of XP home that I had set aside, but life happens.

Here is the official answer from ATI

AT the present there are no plans of having Windows XP x64 drivers available for our All-in-Wonder series of video cards.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

FYI

The statement is not correct.
The driver support is there.
In fact you will get the WDM drivers even without installing the ATI specific release.
Prior to ATI releasing the ATI WDM drivers for the AIW series I was able to watch TV with the beta release of WinXP-64.

The problem is MMC has not been released, the driver suite however is there.

Many 3rdParty players will work fine.
AmCap for example which is included with Microsoft DirectX SDK works like a champ.

If you don't want to download the entire SDK just get AMCap from videohelp.

http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=AMcap

I was also able to run the JRiver Beta 11 which is now release with Win64.

JRiver - MediaCenter Beta 110196

I have a AIW 9700.

Okay, my question to ATI support was actually about drivers and software and their answer is a copy. I understood from looking at their site that the basics (Display and WDM drivers) were there. I am sure I can play something. Does the AIW remote work with this third party player? The ATI support people did say drivers, but I took that to mean they were not going to get a fullly functional AIW card......in the same fashion you would on Win XP Home (32 Bit)

I can play video with a player and my 9500 Pro.
