Yep 6246v3 came in the 5.2Cats.

Still have to do the Gemstar and RWII. But want to get drive imaged before I do.

Hello,
New member and first post. Figure I'd mention that up front.

I have the AIW 9600.
I've had the card for a while no major problems. I beleive the CD came with CAT 4.13's. TV viewing fine, games working fine.
Recently got Rainbow six - Lockdown. First game that I've played that I could not run - black screen. I figured it has been a while since I updated drivers ( if its working leave it alone theory).
So I downloaded CAT 6.3 (uninstalled all ATI drivers etc before loading the newer 6.3 ones.).
Good news is game now works, no problem & graphics ok.
My problem: now the TV video and audio are out of sync. I have plugged and un-plugged the audio plug into the sound card to make sure that was not the problem.

I have followed this post and read many others. I cannot manage to install the older WDM analog drivers without the TV showing no picture after this.

Any guidence or help would be appreciated, sorry if I left out any info.

I am running WIN XP SP2. 1200 mhz AMD, 768 RAM.

I have seen this. roll back your graphics drivers to version 6.2 -then install MMC 9.08. The explanation: 6.2 is the last driver set that doesn't use the unified WDM strream drivers. MMC 9.08 is last version of MMC that Doesn't do TV on demand. Now if you load any base drivers above this you will get black screen and you won't be able to changed the stream drivers. If you use any MMC above this you will get auto TV on demand-you can disable it but it has other things wrong. I use the EXACT same card except mine is a 9600XT. I have been experimenting with alot of drivers these days. I use DH zeropoint drivers but they are version 6.2 so you can use ATI or a modded set so long as it 6.2..this will fix your issues. there are a few reasons why your losing sync..follow the instrustions and it should fix them all..
or you may be able to turn off the TV on demand feature-thats probably whats making you lose sync...

TVoD won't cause sync errors unless you have a slo-o-o-o-o-o-w machine

I understand mine is 1200 mhz , memory 768 (AMD 3200 in box next to me to install), but TV worked ok with original drivers from CD, I think it's probably fast enough.
My problem was with the game : R6 Lockdown and a black screen until I updated to 6.3 CAT.
My thought was to install from the original CD (CAT 4.13) then update the video drivers only to 6.3 version. Is this possible or am I oversimplifying this ? Thinking the video drivers are my game problem ?
I tried this and cannot get the TV to work without reverting back to the CD drivers CAT 4.13.
Any thoughts ?

Just a suggestion, that driver..MMC combo should be fine for that card. I had the black screen the other day, I think it's from using driver over 6.2 and not using a newer MMC..maybe the older MMC's cannot use the At100 Stream driver(whatever) that the newer WDM driver use..Thats my guess.

IF your doing a new build then why are you worried about sorting out a software issue? are you planning on imaging the drive for use o nthe new MOBO and CPU?

ROB, I will be using some components again, however I was also trying to understand the problems I was having, not having seen this type of issue prior. I find it interesting to see som many people with similar problems - my reason for buying this card when i did was as a Home Theater PC, now I have my doubts. It was working as a TV viewer/ recorder but apparently if I use it as only this I'll be OK, if I want to play games I guess I may have to buy another...?????

I just expect to have the same problem when I try to use this card and play R6 again........

TBH that sounded like a chipset driver issue, because after you upgraded to a newer GFX driver (to play the game better I presume), it started acting wonky. When updating GFX drivers make sure you have the latest chipset drivers to ensure the smoothest experience

Update: AIW 9600 Game / TV issue - Resolved.
Quick follow-up to see if this helps anyone else.
I was having trouble with CAT 6.3 update and TV sync problem. I decided to load original CD that came with the card.
1.Uninstalled all drivers with ATI uninstaller.
2.Uninstalled DAO
3.Installed CAT 5.13
4.Opened device manager (sound, video, game controllers) changed the ATI Rage Theater Video NSP to ATI Rage Theater Video - selecting from the "unchecked" show compatible hardware options in driver update.
5.I then installed MMC 9.06
TV is ok, recording and playback ok, and can play R6 Lockdown without the black screen I had.

Hope this helps someone.

I haven't posted here for awhile, mostly because I had given up with ATI MMC. Well, I started working on it the past few weeks, and have had some good results. Using CATs 6.2 with the ATI Rage Video from WDM 5.5 (rest of the wdms are from the 6.2 bundle, and MMC 9.08 I had resolved my audio problem. However, MMC 9.08 doesn't have the HTPC capabilities that I want, so I started looking for an alternative. While using the older Rage Video from 5.5, I started getting errors using the capture card with DScalar and a TV Plugin for Winamp. The error messages varied but one thing remained similar: "ATI Rage Theater Video: Device Not Ready". I rolled back to the 6.2 ATI Rage Video NSP, it worked! And not only did it work, but all the problems experienced with the NSP driver were not there! No stuttering audio, no laggy channel changing, no delay in the stream...I think the audio is clearer than using the 5.5 version. I don't know if anyone else has messed with apps outside of MMC, but I think it's more of a glitch in MMC, rather the drivers themselves. But I guess we all *want* to use MMC instead of a third party app?

Also, does anyone know of a media center front end such as the latest MMC or Meedio that has support for using two different tuners? I think the feature is called 'Video in Video' where there is a little window displaying a different channel within the main video window? Meedio supports it, but doesn't support the tuner chipset on the x800xt...

Thats funny Snarll Before i started beta testing I found that the 6.2 drivers(Modded or official) and the 9.08 MMC was the most stable version on my system aswell. Maybe it's a Canadian thing.

If it matters: AVS_T200 stream driver broke my AiW, wouldn't accept the driver haha

The AVS_T200 driver will only install if certain base drivers have been installed I think they need to be 6.2 or 6.3 etc..if you use any other version it probably won't accept the stream driver because it doesn't know what it is..

Hmmm I just installed 6.4 and the AVS_T200...I can still force analog audio and video thru the winamp TV plugin with none of the 'digital' problems....I wonder if there is a switch or registry edit one could do to MMC to force it to use analog as well, since the driver is still perfectly capable of it...

What you have to do is rollback your driver to a older version, before 6.4 I think, well try 6.2 then when you have them installed you can do the NSP to SP driver change and it'll put the audio from the GFX crad back to the line_in...IF you need more info let me know..
