@Dark, can you not read english? it says in his specs he has one of the BEST All in wonders. Also he helps out alot of people around here, infact he fields about 80% of the AIW questions. When did you get here like yesterday?..the only person being a prick is you. There is no room for bad crap attitude like yours..You will probably get a pass form the mods becasue your new...but people usually get banned for acting such as you...be nice..it unfortunate becasue now if you have a issue he won't help you. H3X's help is a good thing to have...your loss...

I had this lingering hope, tha ATI would come thru in the end, but wiyh there withdrawl from the fray, I just am writing the nonetary loss off. I have certainly sqandered more with less to show in the end. I do have a good 9600XT Video Card still, have had a good experience with a XFX6800GS and have since relented on ATI, buying a X850 Pro and X800GTO recently, and a used 9600XT.
I am moving on, I don't want to hold a grudge any longer. Of course if they did fix it.....

Don't worry guys I have learned not to hear the delusioned rantings of crack users
![]() @PandaZ3: I hold a similar position to yours minus the fact that I'm not too impressed with ATI's 3D products as of late anyway, the AiW's nonwithstanding. They've been playing second fiddle to nVidia now for a good year and a half - 2 years. That seems to be a recurring theme, the underdogs (AMD, ATI) were on top of the big guys (Intel, nVidia) then the big guys came back with a vengeance

Hmmm, I'm sorry if this IS going to sound like a complete noob question but for a good reason: I am a complete noob so....
since I didn't read through all the pages ( ) I'm hoping you'll be able to help me out or at least let me know if I'm not unique in this.I have an aiw x800xl. I go to the craptastic ati site and look for new drivers. I see new drivers, I dl new drivers, then my tv tuner is unable to be accessed and it's all f'd. I uninstall, reinstall and it works fine. Lather rinse and repeat. So, is this a common complaint and should I just stick to the drivers I have installed which work a-ok? |

FOR SURE!, especially with the All in Wonders. If you actually ask I don't think there are too many of us actually using new drivers for AIW's. Most of us will have weird combinations of drivers...older/newer GFX driver and different WDM drivers...possibly using NSP or SP version of audio driver, maybe not that bad but you get the idea...if you can get these cards to work perfect GREAT! leave it alone. Use what works for you and enjoy your card. It seems to me that these cards try to do so many things and have so many dreivers that they are really easy to mess up. I got mine working and I left it be. I run All in Wonder 9600XT and a Ati Theater 550 based TV tuner at the same time so I have PiP or I can watch one show while recording another. Interesting I got it to work becasue ATI said no way-that just made me want to get it to work more...Drivers are weird things, sometimes they can improve things and other times they mess things up. Get used to installing and removing drivers and use driver cleaner in between...it is a very good skill to have...Hope this helps. BTW AIW drivers are like a puzzle all parts have to match...

This rulle seems to hold true for alot of devices BUT it is 100% true for the AIW's once you get it to function properly leave it alone...don't even look at it sideways or it'll mess up..lol...they are touchy cards....

I am new here, but I bin Instaling and Uninstaling many time My card... Is there a driver combination that can have my Vivo and Record program to work? I tried many time Instaling mmc whitout succes and I call ati and they send me 3 card and they all do the same... but reading this, I wil try to have one of them to admit there bad driver and send me something else... lol Hope it work ... but one of you can guide me whit a Driver match that work great for him I woud be thankful... I want to record Tv show on the s-video input or RCA worst case But there always a "NO SIGNAL" post in the midle of my screen. But now I am not even able to install MMC (cat 6.9 and mmc 9.15) DO you have a match that work? Thank you in advance.. |

9.15 is not a good MMC first off. can you look in your device manager under sound, video and game controllers and see if there is any errors..there are a few component drivers that need to be installed and if you don't install themn MMC won't work. Did you install the WDM's? these are your video capture drivers...let me know about this, actually I think H3X has the same card as you and he know alot about the AIW's and the MMC....so hopefully he will post in here for you..BTW get your self driver cleaner and use it when you remove drivers...you can set driver cleaner to leave your GFX drivers but remove all things for MMC..that way not junk is left over..

What I would do is uninstall everything, run DriverCleaner for everything, download the latest Catalyst and install the Drivers and CCC ONLY, then install the WDM's and MMC off the CD

HI Thanks for the quick answer,
OK I did a clean uninstall : uninstall everything, run Drivercleaner in safe mode, clean my registry with ccleaner. then install ccc 6.9 reboot. every thing look fine In the device manager: -Radeon x800 XT -Radeon x800 XT segondary -ATI T200 unified AVStream driver all ok no error Then I look for my ati cd and install : WDM reboot then Install MMC Now I have a error MMC not install you may need to reinstall... Shoud I try to install a newer version ? If you have a sugestion It woud be great! Are GFX drivers better then ati? Thank you! Last edited by Black_Mamba; Oct 19, 2006 at 10:35 PM. Try 9.14 MMC for 6.9 that should work.
BTW, the AVstream driver is your WDM...when I wrote GFX - i use that as short form for Graphics. Last edited by ROBSCIX; Oct 19, 2006 at 11:09 PM. |

Here's a better way now that I think of it. 1. Uninstall everything again 2. Install the drivers from the CD 3. Then install JUST THE DRIVERS from ATI's site, make SURE to deselect the WDM/multimedia drivers option (make sure you're choosing custom install). |

Just thought I'd post after being silent for awhile...
The ATI X1600 512mb graphics card and the Hauppage 350 combo works just fine. No more driver problems. GONE, GONE, all GONE! Just as I said. The two card combo is the only thing that works and I'm not even going to mess anymore with the MMC. Although as I'd mentioned in the much earier posts that MMC will work with a different manufacturer's capture card with the exception of the remote software. But I've grown up or got old or maybe just got wise and refuse to download anything from ATI that has any possibility of screwing things up again. |

I just found the ATI -AIW's are very quirky but once you figure out the quirks they always respond the same way. So when you figure it out it's basically fixed..Maybe that is just me.

ATI 9600 with Hauppage?
Hi,
What about to use the non-AIW equivalent video driver only on the 9600Pro AND the Hauppage 150? Does this combo work? It would save the purchase of another video board. And it is only one driver to install on the ATI as it is on the nVidea board. I guess that without the ATI WDM drivers there would be no conflict with the Hauppage board. Besides the video part of the AIW 9600's is working, isn't it? Phoedrus |

Well, it seems that there is no difference between the 9600 AIW and the non-AIW display drivers, so another video board is needed to work with the Hauppage PVR........

There is no difference in the display driver, and my AIW 9600XT works fine as a 9600XT. Maybe you still have old drivers on your system?

Is it possible to prevent the ATI WDM drivers to install such that another TV Tuner/ Capture card like a Hauppage 150/350 on the same PC be able to have its own WDM drivers installed instead and be able to perform the AIW functions? I am asking that because my AIW 9600Pro started to show the yellow exclamation points on the RageTheater Audio and Video drivers with the Code 10 Cannot install... message. Everything I've tried to solve this problem was in vain. However the video part is OK, so one option would be to buy a Hauppage and use it with the 9600 as a video only board. |

Yes it is but before yo do that down load "Driver Cleaner Pro" (Its free) http://www.drivercleaner.net/
and then select all things ATI and clean them. Re-Boot, go to ATI's page and download the 'display driver only' From the site and then do your Hauppage thing.

Thanks PandaZ3,
As a matter of fact, I have been using DriverCleaner in Safe mode a lot lately. I would like very much to be sure before I buy something else that it will work out. I vaguely remember have read sometime ago, somewhere, that it was not possible to install AIWs with the Hauppage's but I am not sure. Maybe it was somebody talking about using the AIW remote with the PVR or something like that. Or not at all. |

I believe we have someone in this thread that did that very thing that you want to do.

I suggest a new strategy, Artoo.
Let the Wookie win. (I.e. give up )AiW's will work with Hauppages installed, then you just ignore the AiW and use the Hauppage tuner |
