OK, I really hate jinxing myself, but I'm going to go ahead and post my results. Last night I couldn't view TV for more than about 5 minutes on my AIW X600 Pro without the program locking up. I tried the OmegaDrivers solution when I got home today, but no luck. As was indicated, those drivers are really geared for making the card run games better. They have nothing to do with the MMC software. Today I got an email from ATI saying to go to the following URL and follow the instructions exactly.

http://www.ati.com/install

After following all of the instructions to the letter, I'm now going on 1 hour viewing TV and no lock ups so far. In fact, I'm watching "ThruView" as I type this reply.

So, here's what I did:

- followed the directions above for manual removal of all ATI software, drivers and registry entries, making sure to reboot as indicated.
- Installed the latest version of Direct X
- Installed the latest version of .NET
- Installed the latest driver package with the Catalyst Control Center
- Installed the DAO/MDAC file
- Installed the ATI DVD Decoder, following the instructions outlined on subsequent pages of the above link.
- Installed the latest ATI Multimedia CenterBasically I just did what the links told me to do. So far, so good. I'm going to test scheduled recording tonight. I hope some of that will be of use to someone here.

Max.

yeah, running through the proper installation preceedures helps a pile

But it doesn't solve the problem for me... as i do the above All the time... Format .. and do the installations...

Rebooting after each and defragging in some cases..

Fixed One Prob - Video In is good

hi,
I am back after a day trying.
Removed all the old drivers.
Installed the 5.13 (out yesterday) catalyst...
Installed in the correct order all the other fun things.
DIDN'T WORK - Video in is still corrupted (In fast movement video is bad) seems like it doesn't sample the video correctly.
This was my fix:
I have AMD XP 2600+ (2Ghz). In my bios it was set to 166Mhz X 12.5 Multipler (2075).
I have read that the ATI needs 200Mhz base freq. So I changed it to 200Mhz x 10 Multiplier.
That fixed my video in.
Will try now to see if the 3D works good too.
Thank you
Guy

HEY !!! H3X4D3C1M4L, installing ROXIO EMCv8 is what CRASHED my "Former" working CAT 5.10 AIW setup, my HDD was so scrambled that it wouldn't boot AND when I used it as a "G" drive to re-coop data, "It could not even be read !!". NO more Roxio for me. ALL my forum entries (kbuzzard) were posted in attempts to use XP SP2 on clean install after. In Retrospect, My XP SP1 was upgraded to SP2 status as was DX9 to 9c etc and IT ALL WORKED GREAT. XP SP2 won't allow this(for Me and abvious many others). Roxio v8 caused Me MONTHS of grief, I type this as warning as I have lately noticed others with Roxio DAO/MDAC issues. Now the miracle CAT 5.13's are out, I requested "Strongly" to Mr X at ATI,btw.. He called ME, to get them to add corrective AIW WDM patches or NOTES with the CAT 5.13 release, His (their) responce was WE are the noisy MINORITY who don't work and since the majority apparently DO work, They aren't interested in addressing IT !!.I add this entry "IN HOPES" it catches a keen eye. As noted previous, it doesn't matter what CAT / Omega Display Drivers you use BUT !!! if you have an AIW . In NOT agreeing with Mr X at ATI, AIW's are" NOT" compatible with SP2, somone prove THEY ARE and link me to the install data, address that proves it. You CAN get lucky. NOTE, MoBo BIOS has NO effect either Mr X and NO, I'm not turning off my HT feature, Just fix your WDM and maybe DAO/MDAC Drivers for us AIW suckers. ATI ACTUALLY feels We non-working AIW owners and trying to be USERS are a "NOISY" MINORITY problem and evidently not important to their CUSTOMER or Future customer base, I worldn't know, I won't be a future AIW BUYER, if thats how they feel about it. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL - P.S. Don't give any friends or relatives an ATI AIW for Christmas, lol, HoHoHo............ btw, SP1, forced wdm_sp on CAT 4.10 set with MMC 9.02, no Roxio, working GREAT. Been Capturing TV with shceduler regularly and mpeg4 captures are super, NFSU / U2 /Most Wanted / Colin McRae's also just FINE. , NO thanks to ATI but to Users like YOU

I changed my sig to reflect my first real departure from ATI Radeon cards. I was hesitant to change as I liked to be able to allow the cards to trickle down and use the same drivers. My reasons for the switch, were my first move to a PCI-e card, (Obviously there will be nowtPCI-e card trickle down to machines that have a AGP solution), Dissatisfaction with a AIW card. Finally, I think Nvidia has the current edge.

I think the switch to PCI-e was a BIG step for me, driven primarily by the availability of good solutions in motherboards. Good AGP solutions are scarce. While I do think Nvidia to be the current leader, it would not have been enough to drive me to the "Dark Side" not by itself andway. I edged over there because of the lack of support for a AIW card. Reasoned or petty, it doesn't matter now.

BOY, I would love to go too. F.Y.I. I DL'd and extracted WDM Drivers for CAT 2.5/3.5/4.10/4.11 to a folder tonight and NONE of them have WDM_NSP drivers. I was able to do that with 7zip BUT 4.12 and up I can't and I KNOW for a fact that CAT 4.12 has NSP stuff. This is probably no news to you. By the way, CAT 5.13 WDM Install notes mentions this and gives the FIX, but that fix seems to have NOT worked for anyome yet. read CAT 5.13 WDM notes and my additions on this note
December 9, 2005

ATI WDM Driver Release Note CAT 5.13 ***********************************

These release notes provide information for ATI's Windows Driver Model (WDM) versions 4.07 and 8.20. >v4.07 ( WDM_SP) and v8.20 (WDM_NSP)
Desktop product family support

The ATI WDM driver is a series of drivers used to enable the capture and TV tuner features on VIVO boards, and the All-in-Wonder® series of cards produced by ATI Technologies Inc.

The ATI WDM Driver Install bundle contains both the ATI WDM Driver 4.07 and 8.20. The setup program automatically detects the graphic adapter installed in your system and installs the appropriate ATI WDM components for the graphic adapter. The WDM version 8.20 will install on:

* All-in-Wonder® X1800 Series " WDM_NSP - MY NOTES, kbuzzard"
* All-in-Wonder® X800 Series "
* All-in-Wonder® X600 Series "
* All-in-Wonder® 9800 Series "
* All-in-Wonder® 9700 Series "
* All-in-Wonder® 9600 Series "

The ATI WDM driver version 4.07 will install on:

* Radeon® 9200 series or earlier All-in-Wonder® products " WDM_SP - MY Notes kbuzzard"
* ATI VIVO products

TV Player Failed To Initialize Video, running ATI Multimedia Center

Some ATI display drivers will not recognize or function with the software contained in tv-capture-wdm-4-07-6246v3-5-01-6300.exe. If you experience problems with your TV or Capture application be sure to install the recommended ATI Display driver for your ATI graphic card.

If problems continue and you are using the recommended ATI display driver for your ATI graphic card, follow these steps:

1. Go to the DEVICE MANAGER.
2. Double-click the Sound, Video and game controller and ensure all the ATI WDM components listed below are present and functioning properly. For the ATI WDM version 4.07 (6246) the component list consists of:
* ATI WDM Specialized PCD Codec
* ATI WDM Rage Theater Audio
* ATI WDM Rage Theater Video " > THIS WORKS XP SP1 "when forced" * *******NOTE 6-14-10-6246 IS CAT 4.11 WDM !! - My Notes kbuzzard"******
* ATI WDM TV Audio Crossbar
* ATI WDM TV Tuner ATI SAYING IF 5.13 won't work USE CAT 4.11's
* ATI WDM Specialized MVD
For the ATI WDM version 8.20 the component list consists of: *** CAT 4.12's #6246v3 kbuzzard * ATI WDM Specialized PCD Codec
* ATI WDM Rage Theater Audio
* ATI WDM Rage Theater Video NSP >>>>>> OUR BUDDY
* ATI WDM TV Audio Crossbar
* ATI WDM TV Tuner
* ATI WDM Specialized MVD Codec

Either way, if we can do all this stuff to get a fix, we shouldn't have to... I mean what if someone just wants to use the fkn card rather then spend hours trying to fix it?

I can't make any guarantees as we don;t have an AIW beta tester however our VIVO owners have not had any problems with the DHzer0point Drivers if someone would like to let me know if they'd like to beta test and/or try out our public release of the 5.13's it'd be nice to have a solid modded set for the AIW owners...

Would you possibly be able to include an option for analog / digital WDM's in the ZP drivers?

I guarantee you alot of AiW users would soon be switching to ZP drivers, myself included

yeah..... we need more input from people that use these AIW's.... and even TV cards from ATI...

seriously, all of us pointing out the apparent bugs, giving suggestions that ATI should be looking at carefully, as we are the users....

ATI AIW folks, READ THIS. Being bored today I took a Cloned hdd of my working XP SP1,DX9c,CAT 5.10 DD,"Forced WDM_SP correct,MMC9.06 set-up and in playing installed as "Upgrade" a copy of "Unattended SP3" !!!, and Guess WHAT, hummm, now my WDM_SP video drivers in Device Manager have been CHANGED to WDM_NSP S.O.B. NOTE, there was NO driver changes per say. Interesting because EVEN when I forced WDM_SP into XP SP2 it ALWAYS installed as WDM_NSP or yellow caution and failed the TV stuff. I AM running the TV now to see if it crashes because it is RUNNING OK, so far. This is interesting as it HAS the NOTED delay in changing channels with the audio stutter, FOLKS, from where I sit, It looks like our OS is causing this, Maybe ATI drivers are being side tracked by Microsoft. You comments more than welcome. Fortunately this is a cloned copy and sublect to Format and try something else. I will report on NFSMW play later on. Oh YEA, HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL !!!!!!!!!!.

Sorry, my setup. Asus P4P800 Deluxe / 3ghz HT 800 / 1gig Kingston hyperX PC-4000 / on-board audio biosed out,using Turtle Beach Santa Cruz / ATI 9600 Pro AIW. 3 external SATA Maxtor 120/8meg Cache,Channel 1 as "C" 2 as Clone or "G". Plex Px-708A & Lite-On SOHW-832S DVDR's in Antec Sonata MM Casew/ 450w PS.
