ATI WDM 9600XT Problem
Hey, I just purchased Windows Media Edition 2005 and formatted my computer..after doing so i began to install the ATI Software from my original CD. Normally i wouldnt have any problems but now i realized that the install was alot shorter then normal. After my computer booted up i realized that WDM was totally skipped and it did not install at all. I've seen a couple of threads about this but i couldnt seem to find an actual answer to solve this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Did you go to device manager and try searching for drivers and seeing if it could find anything?

Looks like the media devices are already installed.
Problem solved I suppose ![]() TBH I don't know much about MCE but it looks like it has its own preferred WDM drivers for ATI cards |

...and could you post your system specs (mainboard, processor, ram, video card make and model) for us please, P11?
Could be you need to download the set specifically for Windows MCE from ATI and read there about any issues or workarounds - I remember somthing about the need for that with MCE...

From the notes for ATI's most recent version of the Multimedia Center (9.08):
To use the ATI Multimedia Center™ on Microsoft's Windows Media Center Edition, follow these steps:

Glad the tip from ATI worked - but sorry I can't confirm or duplicate your stuff here on my machine - running XP SP2. Could you try it and post back for others though when you care to? I would suspect you need to kill the process after each bootup unless you write a script, or stop the process from ever starting in the first place as windows boots if you decide you like using the MMC instead of the Media Center stuff.
For help on that subject you could also try posting your question on the Windows 98,ME, XP forum here - there are some real wizards there...

Well something has to start it up so we can just stop that.
I'd check the 1. Services list. 2. Local machine start up in registry 3. Current user start up 4. User specific start menu startup entries If it isn't there then.... hell knows how it gets started |
