Wdm_ati+cares+less=no_more_$$$_from_me
I have given this WAY too much effort (ATI won't even respond). Looks like answer is XP SP1 Pruducts will NOT be supported, Buy new card. Sorry. I have suffered with A.I.W/Wonders etc and WHY can't this SP2-WDM_WRONG get patched or fixed. After MUCH review here and others, you use CD Drivers with SP1 or forget it. I have ONCE got an SP2 to accept WDM_XP off CD and Cat5.11 with MMC 9.08 worked GREAT !!!!. BUT I can't get it to repeat. I will NOT buy another ATI product as ATI doesn't want anything but more sales, Sorry ATI, I quit.

Well if you've found the solution for using the old drivers (non NSP) then just install the new drivers over the old ones without installing the WDM drivers (which you can uncheck during install) and see if that works.
Personally NSP Drivers work OK for me (75% of the time they work). |

I have tried about all
1) If SP2 / DX 9c is on HDD WDM_NSP "insists" on installing,os staying, OR no TV Card. I do not know if you could do a DX 9c removal of SP2 as it comes with it !!!!.
2) If SP2 is added to SP1 with WDM_SP drivers installed, TV Card fails. 3) In ATI defense, the REAL problem may be DX9c as IT is always what changes it. 4 Obviously WDM_NSP are required for SP2 MCE stuff but I really couldn'r care about that. I am trying to help us busted A.I.W. folks who have no voice or answers. KNOWN 1 With SP1, CAT 4.10 group with MMC 9.02 works, I am using as I type, Capturing Falcon's game. 2 EVEN doing this, once all drivers are installed, you STILL have to go to Device Manager, click on WDM_NSP drivers, rt click, upgrade to WDM_SP drivers and ALL IS THEN A+++. DVD,FM and TV work. 3 Conclusion, Microsoft SP2 and DX9c together are doing this to US A.I.W. Folks. I am doing this to help by my efforts. If you go to ATI.com /Drivers and Software / XP / All In Wonder and look in Rt Panel of "customer care" Previous Drivers and software, and go for Cat 4.10's. No XPSP or MCE support. BUT, if you are running SP2 or DX0c " You are wasting your Time". If I need direction, PLEASE POINT. |

Sorry to keep adding, lol, I am trying
Your suggestion won't work, IF it changes, it goes to crossbar and fails. In YOUR support, I have tried Omega Drivers of late and work AWESOME, I have 2 SATA 120 gigers on my PC and am considering using a switch, XP SP1 CAT 4.10's with MMC and other as XP SP2 CAT 5.11's or your Omegas and have both, I sure can't get it otherwise as much as I try.

No offense but I'm not sure I understand 100% what it is that you're trying to explain and secondly why it is you're so angry... if you don't like the AiW cards don't buy them or if you're pissed with ATI buy nVidia... but if you want help try and rephrase it a bit because I can't really understand what the problem is except that your machine doesn't apparantly work with AiW software

In a nutshell
I am trying to get XP SP2 (DirectX 9c) to "allow" proper instalation of WDM_SP drivers for my A.I.W. 9600 Pro. I have visited a few Forums and Google searches and posted here as I suspect you have a pretty good insight into ATI Vid Card software ( Rage 3D) has a good post on this that agrees with my findings as I am no Guru BUT I am tenacious. This may be more than basic issue as I see MANY posts of MANY different cards etc BUT have VERY similar symptoms. You may not have the answer but posting like this will help somebody as I have benifitted before. I am operatimg NOW with XP SP1,CAT 4.10 DD / WDM drivers from CAT 4.10 / same DVD / MMC 9.02. I had to do the WDM_NSP update but all now fine . Since my original CD was CAT 2.5 and MMC 8.6 I am doing MUCH better. Not upgrading to SP2 will limit me somewhat as Nero 7 needs DX9b+ etc. Most posted problems concern SP2 and that is my goal, If not do-able so-be it. Actually I love the A.I.W" when working" as I use my PC as the center of my Stereo and Home Theater. Asus P4P800 DeLuxe, Turtlle Beach Santa Cruz PCI,1gig PC-4000 Ram,2 120 gig SATA serial HDD's, Zallman Cu7000, Hauppauge Nexus-s, Plextor PX=708a, Lite-On SOHW-832s, Intel P4 3.0 ht, Sony 500PS and ViewSonic PJ-860, 2 Carver TFM-15,Carver CT-26v,Teac X-1000 and X-700 R2R Tape Decks, Sony TT and Casette. All that and I just would like SP2 to accept WDM_SP and move on. BUT I am running.!!!!!!. Thanks in advance, hopefully I have helped someone ..........

I Did that "9" days ago, you did not read my posts, Thanks anyway. 14 month old drivers are better than 37 month old drivers.I have installed,formatted,re-installed SP1 or 2,CAT 2.5 thru 5.11 for the last 9 days. You guys are don't work for ATI or supply MMC stuff. This is sad state but as you said, my cards are dated. Thanks anyway.

My final post for you who have read WDM_NSP Posts, DirectX 9c will be replaced with DirectX 10 in Vista. According to Warp2search.nets post Support for previous DirectX's will stop. Although this is a personal opinion, my (our) problem may be in DirectX our aging A.I.W's and TV Wonders support will probably go with it altogether. I say that as SP1 "WILL" allow WDM_NSP to install but introduction of DirectX 9c KILLS that !!!!. I may never get to the real answer. Thanks Gentlemen, continue to Omega's, Awesome. P.S. ATI will NOT respond to this WDM issue AT ALL>......

I meant WDM_SP to install. If you can correct that, crashing, stuttering,lock-ups,sound level dips, and even allowing the card to work on initiak install will be corrected, i have seen them all with my A.I.W. 9600. I suspect a great percentage of problems of this type in this forum are related to this.
