Ati A.i.W. 9800 pro PROB.
Hi all,
i got a ati All in Wonder 9800 Pro 128mb with Tv-tuner. Yesterday I installed the new omega driver (2.6.87). When I restart my pc now the system detect 6 new unknown devices. I can t find any driver for it. Is there a special driver for the A.i.W. 9800 pro with tuner?? Thanks for all answers!! |

Yes if you install Omega drivers you have to get the WDM drivers, which he provides a link to at the bottom of the page

I really dont recommend omega drivers for AIW cards, it's just a hassle with the WDM drivers.

Omega's and AIW's do work fine, I'm using Omega's now.
What I was saying is that there is sort of a complicated process you have to go through to install the WDM's, since they are not already included in the Drivers you download. There was always a process I had to go through to get the WDM drivers to work, I think i was install the WDM drivers first, then the Omega's, and if I fucked that up, I would have to uninstall everything, curse at myself for 5 minutes and try again. With the ATI drivers, it's simply install Catalysts, which include the WDM drivers, then install MMC, then end. With Omega's, it's a little bit more work. The guy that posted, which I assume hasn't checked back here yet wouldn't have the problem he was having if he had just installed the original drivers, know what I mean?

Perhaps but I find installing the MMC and getting the DVD decoder to work is such a pain in the arse......
BTW installing WDM's with Omega is really easy...install Omega's, install WDMs reboot then done. Never had it fail on me like that |
