Line on screen
When I have my X800XL plugged into my tv via s-video cable (or composite for that matter) I get a line travelling from bottom to top on my screen. Anyone have an idea what it may be. Thx

Is the line on your TV or your computer monitor - and is the line from top to bottom in the center, left, right, or on either edge of the screen?
If the line is on the edge of the TV screen - you likely have a sync problem on the tv related to the refresh rate set by/in the driver...

If it travels then its likely interference on the Svideo cable, I get that alot.

The line travels bottom to top, it looks like when you film a computer monitor then watch it, you can see the screen refreshing. Its most noticable on a black section. I have thought it may have to do with refresh rate but I cannot adjust the tv rate. The monitor does not have the same problem. H3X4D3C1M4L how or what did you do to get rid of the interference, it may be the problem but it also happens with the composite inputs. Thx

Use shorter, higher quality cables. My home made RCA cables often do this too. But then again all I'm good at is making CAT5 patch cables

The line traveling top to bottom slowly (line is side to side across the screen...) is called a hum bar and is likely due to a bad (or loose) ground somewhere - in other words a connection is weak/bad or there is a ground loop (which causes an audible hum in audio equipment) - Hex's suggestion to use a good quality or shorter cable is a good start.
Also check that all three lines (the hot, neutral, and ground of the AC plugs in your house) are good - could be an AC (house wiring) problem.

You could also try using one of those signal repeater boxes and two shorter segments of Svideo cable. I also find composite cables more immune to this effect. Most Svideo cables have poor shielding and then the video signal gets all buggered up
