Advice/Help on ATI Radeon 8500 DV

Hi folks...

Newbie to this forum, found it thru Omega driver site. I recently pieced back together my desktop with a fresh install of W2K and new root drive. I also updated my motherboard BIOS to allow me to use my Radeon 8500DV and had some problems with functionality. In the ATI usenet forum someone suggested the Omega driver set and as a better way to use this card without all the ATI bloat so I DL'd the drivers and my card is working... not 100% but it's working. The TV Tuner is working, but I'm not sure the DVR function is. Not knowing a whole lot about the Omega drivers, I wondered about the following:

1. Will the basic Omega drivers take care of all the functions (video capture, remote control operational, etc.) or do I combine some ATI drivers with the Omega drivers?
2. Will the Omega drivers allow me to read and play a DVD, or should I continue to use POWERDVD... or is there a conflict if I have both installed?
3. I've got my remote control RF module plugged into a USB 2.0 port. The remote doesn't work although the pilot light on the RF module and the LED on the remote flashes (new batteries). Is USB 2.0 problematic?

The machine is a home-built Dual-MP setup, Tyan Tiger mobo, plenty of cooling, not overclocked or modded, 512mb memory, plenty of HDD space, running W2K Pro w/SP4 installed. Using AVG and Zone Alarm but don't know whether that affects anything. Ooops... almost forgot. Using a Matrox Millenium G200 as my primary video/monitor (21" G500 Sony) and the ATI as my secondary video/monitor with a 17" Envision. This way I can keep the TV stuff off to the side on the smaller monitor while I work on my larger one.

Thanks in advance for any/all help.

You'll need to combine ATI stuff for the remote and DVD decoder and such...Omega is just a display driver, nothing more. You'll also need the WDM drivers etc.

Ohhhhhh.... now how do I go about sorting through the ATI stuff I downloaded to find the exact drivers and whatever to get the card and remote fully functional? Is this a nuisance that would suggest going back to the ATI drivers?

It would suggest going back to ATI drivers if you can't figure out how to get them working properly with Omegas I'd say
