radeon x1800xt 512mb vs geforce 7900gt extreme

i know that u guys are tired of threads like this but i really need your help , please tell me wich is better and why.all i want is to play the latest games at 1280X1024 with no stutter , stuttering in games are more annoying than low fps for me.thank you

The X1800XT seems to be the better choice as it can do HDR+AA. Plus, the factory overclocked 7900GTs have been plagued with problems (insufficient testing).

I think that the x1800xt would be a bit faster than the 7900GT, about the stutter, as Sandok has said, none of them should stutter, anyway, the stuttering usually depends on the game.

I personally prefer NV for once (even though I am an ATI fanboy) for the following reasons:

24 pipelines will help with time
Single slot + crazy OCer
Less power usage and SLI is better
Quiter and smaller card (length)
Drivers aren't bloated as much as ATI (come on, we all know it...)

New tech from ATI rarely implemnted (HDR+AA so far only in a handful of games and 3Dc never came around)

I am currently considering a similar update to a 512mb GC.

Now i'm not to high on the tech stuff but i'm looking at some of the X1900 XT 512MB.(still lookind at nvidia so im not biased)These are pci-e cards but where i want to make sure on first.

As the is "X1900 XT 512MB" and "X1900 Crossfire Edition" cards. am i correct the the crossfire cards require compatible motherboads?

My current mobo is a abit AG8.

I just don't want to spend £300 + on the wrong card.

Sapphire X1800XT will be the better choice because it has twice the ram and leads vs all 7900GT's as the resolution climbs.

Still you really should read through the other 2-3 threads on this as they have more than enough information and all we can do is repost it here.

thanks guys and you are ok mig 31 like u i dont want to waste money on a graphics card thats why im being such a pain.i have money for a x1900xt but i dont want to spend such a amount of money when directx 10 is just around the corner .thats why i thought that a radeonx1800xt or a geforce7900gt would do the job until next year
