Returning card because of defect

I bought a card from this guy, a sapphire radeon x800xt 256mb.
I put it in my pc, tried to start it.. didnt work.
Because i just got all my new equipment i thought i maybe had something wrong connected so i brought my pc away to a specialist computer store.

they told me the problem was the card, it was defect. the pc was just fine..

So now im screwed, i havent got the guy's telephone number or adress. The postal service cant do anything either.

Now i was thinking, what if i just send a sad mail to sapphire about i bought a card, it didnt work out, and if I could send it back so they could repair it (send me a new one)
but they send a mail back saying I need to go to the store with it. but that is just the problem, i havent got the recipient. (the ticket)
so what would you guys suggest me to do?

they sent me:
You need to return the cafrd to the supplier.
i told the computer store told me i need to send the card to the manufacturer (the truth) i got this:
The whole point of a distribution system is to provide the ease of service, otherwise we may as well sell direct to the public and take away their profit margin. By law all retailer must provide warranty.

so what should i do?
i dont want to throw away the card that costed quite a bit, but i dont want to screw another person with selling him a broken videocard.

is there a way to get this to sapphire so they repair it (i dont care if it costs me a bit) or they send me a new card.

(i heard stories of broken cards getting send to the manufacturer and they provide them with a similer card. its in their policy)

you may try their website and create a support ticket or inquire on the steps to fill out an online RMA
