Pissed Crossfire keeps rebooting

Hi,

I have a crossfire setup with:

1 x Saphire X1900 Crossfire Edition
1 x Asus XT1900XTX
Asus A8R32 Deluxe
AMD Opteron 175 64 X2
2 GB RAM
600 PSU
Soundblaster X-fi
Windows XP Pro 32 Bit

The system reboots or at least crashes in most 3D applications when crossfire is enabled, but with crossfire disabled, or with only the Asus vga assembled, everything works perfectly.

I had an instalation of XP 64, and reinstalled with the 32 bit version, and it behaves exactly the same.

I'm using the latest ATI official drivers. Any ideia of what could be causing this?

Is your mastercard in the top slot?

if so, Try moving it to the bottom slot and the slave to the top..

then in the bios look for Boot Display or similare with options:

PCI-EX1~>PCI-EX2

and change it to

PCI-EX2~>PCI-EX1

then load up windows, let the drivers install ignore the CCC error of no drivers found problem.. wait awhile then restart the computer

load up CCC and turn on Crossfire..

fire up a game and see if it crashes.

I'm using a LC POWER 560W SILENT TITAN SLI/CROSSFIRE.
Not a very known model, but with good reviews.

If you have access to a different PSU that is powerful enough swap it out and try things

Nope... not a possibility. I live in a third word country, had to import theses components since nothing like this is sold here But I don't expect that to be the problem, it is a SLi/Crossfire ready PSU.

What bios are you using on the mobo? Also, can you try removing the X-fi and using onboard sound to see if it still happens?

Got it! It's working fine with crossfire enabled after disabling the 2 services stated on this page:

http://www.muropaketti.com/3dmark/r520/cf/oc/

Now, I have to research what the hell this services were supposed to do
