Catalyst AI? What is it?

Maybe a stupid question but what is it?, I have done a search but can't really come up with any decent information on what exactly Catalyst AI is, and more importantly, what should I do with this setting in Tray Tools? Off, Low or High?

As I understand it, it's for general and game specific optimizations.

Off: No optimization
Low/standard: General optimization and optimizations that don't compromise quality
High/Advanced: Optimizations that may compromise quality, also a tendency to increase CPU usage.

In CCC, the sample does actually look worse when Cat AI advanced is selected.
